MAD Architects proposal for Notre-Dame de Paris. French culture has influenced a lot of different cultures and took them under its wings. The colors of the french flag "tricolore" are mixed to refer to the unity of this cultures and the resulting color is used as a base on the arches. The canopy has pink-hued iridescent vinyl tent placed on arches which are fixed but still allowing the movement of the tent. Moving with the wind, the spectrum of colors create a harmony representing the whole nation and the heartbreaking fire that happened short time ago. La culture française a influencé, et également pris de nombreuses cultures différentes sous ses ailes. Les couleurs du drapeau tricolore français ont été ici mélangées dans une démarche d'unification de ces cultures, et la couleur résultante, utilisée comme base sur ces arches. Le baldaquin est formé d'un vinyle rosé iridescent placé sur ces arches, fixé, mais toujours libre et mobile. Le mouvement permanent généré par le vent, le spectre de couleurs, créent une harmonie représentant la nation unie, et évoquant le tragique incendie maintenant passé, induisant aussi à chaque heure du jour une expérience visuelle unique, mouvante et émouvante. http://bit.ly/2wk0F69

French designer Mathieu Lehanneur proposes replacing the spire not with a replica of what was built 150 years ago, but what was there during the fire.⁣ ⁣ "In a provocative way, I proposed to rebuild the spire as it was, following the most conservative people, but as it was last week!" Repost from @Lorenzopozzi45⁣ ⁣ These days I have been struck by some sketches, projects or ideas for the reconstruction of the spire and roof of the cathedral of Notre Dame. So I asked myself what could be the best solution, an innovative project that looked to the future, with new lines and shapes, risking however to overturn the perfection and uniqueness of this symbol of Gothic architecture, or a faithful reconstruction (obviously with the 'use of modern materials and technologies) with the risk of erasing the memory of a painful occurrence. Maintaining an intermediate position, that is maintaining a harmony with the past while leaving a sign of what happened, reviewing the thrilling images of that evening, I immediately thought of red, a red that becomes even more intense in the evening, just like the a flame that stood out against the cathedral that evening, and this is how the spire, while maintaining its Gothic features, with the exception of the deconstructed and volatile effect of the base to commemorate it. Its collapse, stands out like a thin flame on the roof. French architect and artist David Deroo has created a design for "an idealistic representation of how Notre-Dame could be re-built".
