Hannah wasn't going to come to prom originally but decided at last second she would. Now she was reminded why she told herself she wasn't going to do it in the first place; there were so many people and she was already thinking about heading home.

"Oh Tobias, hi. Yeah, I just... needed some air. It's kind of hectic in there. Are you okay?"

Who: Anyone & Everyone Where: Just outside the Under the Sea Prom

It wasn't as though Tobias needed the air, but it was good to catch a breathe every now and again amidst all of the bodies and dancing. The air felt thick with sweat and alcohol and potential. Quite the sight and atmosphere if you asked him. So there he was, stealing a quick moment away from his date to take a breather outside. Dark eyes aimed up at the sky as his slightly wet hair (from said sweat and alcohol) dried off in the breeze.

The sound of the door opening next to him drew Tobias' attention, but what kept it was the other's expression. "You okay there? Penny for your thoughts? Or....-Dunno, I might have a quarter on me if it's something major?"

"Quite the coincidence, huh." It was a bit silly to think about it, but sometimes she wondered if fate was a real thing. Being reunited with her friend, did it mean anything?

"Oh, I'm planning on staying for a long while. I'd just gotten back from New York a few weeks ago. I was doing a show and came back as soon as it was over. I just want to spend time getting to know my family here. What have you been up to while you're here? I mean, do you live here year 'round or is this more like a summer time residency." Hannah let out a little laugh, feeling silly for even asking.

Cal knew that his exit from New York was kind of dead of night, sneaking out. No one cared that he was in Aurora Bay though. "Oh, that's cool. Strange that both of us have family here. Are you sticking around for a while or do you think you'll go back soon?"

It was so nice to have an attentive parent in her life, someone who saw her achievements and didn't make her feel like she had to fight for it. He was proud of her too. Having a father was so surreal now. "Thank you! I mean, I guess we were pretty amazing, huh."

"Oh, an iced latte sounds wonderful. Maybe one of their little sandwiches too!" She chirped with a smile. "Once we've ordered we have to talk about you getting back on the stage next." She smiled at him.

Jasper felt a rush of warmth when Hannah enveloped him in a hug. It was a joy he never thought he would get to experience and one that he considered himself very blessed and grateful to have in his life. Hannah had taken a simple gesture and given it so much weight in meaning and being able to return the embrace was so special.

He was reluctant to pull away, but Jasper didn't want to overcrowd Hannah and let her sit down. “I saw some stuff online about the show. I think it was a lot better than ‘wasn’t terrible’.” He laughed. “It’s just another proverbial feather in your cap. I have no doubts that you'll have plenty of upcoming opportunities and those casting directors out there would be mad not to want you in their productions."

"No, not yet," Jasper then answered. "I was going to get you usual, but I didn't want to assume- I thought you might have wanted something different, so I waited. But, as always, the drink and any food you'd like is on me. What would you like, sweetheart? Do you want to eat?"

"Sounds silly from a girl who spent her whole life on stage and red carpets, but there's too many people. I thought I'd come here for a drink and just chill but obviously I don't think that's going to happen." Hannah let out a sigh as she gestured to how busy the bar was at that time.

"Say, mind if I join you? I'll even buy you a drink."

Eddie didn't understand the hype around the garden festival every year. It was nothing new, or exciting - for him. He had expected The Reef to be on the quieter side when he arrived, assuming most locals had disappeared to drink colorful drinks and buy flower scented artisanry. To his surprised, the place was moderately busy. "Not garden ones." Eddie said with a playful smirk he looked at the blonde. It was safe to say he did not expect to be running into her at the reef, of all places. "What about you, love? I thought that'd be your type of vibe."

"Just working on some new music, I'm living at the condos with my friend, Iris, and I'm here in the first place because my dad's from Aurora Bay, actually." She gave him a small smile. She'd told him about never knowing her father, so she wondered how he'd react to knowing she'd finally met him.

"No dating. Not yet." Nothing officially, that is. She'd hooked up a time or two with Eddie but that was all. "What about you? Meet anyone fun in Aurora Bay?" Hannah had no issue knowing her ex had moved on or was seeing other people.

"Oh, you know. Same old, same old. Always something a little strange going on. Makes the weird something more ordinary. Not in a bad way, though. That's the way I see it at least. You? Work? Family and such? Dating? Getting that self of yours out there?" Some might feel awkward asking an ex such a question. Tobias was not one of them.

"I mean, I think it looks great, but I'm not really a tattoo artist. Or an artist that's like, artsy like that. I write music and I act, I don't know if I could even draw a stick figure well, so I'm not really sure what they're looking for."

"I guess I just don't really know what they're looking for?" He shrugs, scratching the back of his head as he looks over the pieces he's done over the last few years.

"Like, it says Ink Master, but also some of the contestants that have gone on definitely have a, uhm, like specialty?" Eyes scan over his artwork, moving around a couple of pieces he decided he preferred.

"Think this will wow the jury?" He chuckles, his portfolio not lacking any variety nor skill set but Ty wasn't so naive to think he was a mind blowing artist. Personally, he thinks he's, good, but he has enough audacity he figured he could try his hand at a competition and see what happens.

"That would be perfect!" Hannah could use some more hobbies of her own, so the idea of doing something like that with a friend sounded wonderful.

"I would absolutely love that! Next time I go, I'll give you a heads up so we can go together." Gianna loved getting her hands dirty and being creative. Naturally, the pottery classes appealed to her. "There's plenty of little things in town to keep us busy. I mean, I spend most of my time in the studio working on new pieces but I try to be social whenever I can."

Hannah wasn't sure if she wanted to tell him everything, but it would be the truth so she figured it couldn't hurt too bad... right? "Uh, yeah.. It is really weird to even be here, especially long term. My father actually lives here, and I moved to meet him."

He didn't know if it was more embarrassing to talk about New York or being here in Aurora Bay. "My aunt. Uh, she lives around here." Cal couldn't say they grew up here because New York had practically raised them—but saying they were from Aurora Bay was odd too because they hadn't been born here. He always put Brisbane when people asked where he was born. "What about you? Feels weirder to see you here."

I'm not the best at comforting others with words, so I'll usually give long hugs for comfort. Sometimes that's all anyone needs.

I think my love language is gift giving. That's one of those, right? I just love buying gifts for my friends and family, giving them things that shows them I'm thinking about them and that I know what they like.
