Concept for an anime: A slice of life series of middle-aged women who have been friends since school, who have just been hanging out together ever since, with their own money and free time since none of them ever got married or had kids. And the world they live in is a 100% played straight Anime Trope World, where insane shit happens all the time and they're not just trope-aware, but consider it perfectly normal. But none of that really touches them, so they're free to just gossip about it over drinks. Like

"Hey oh that reminds me, do you remember Uyuru from school? The underclassman with the blue hair?" "Yeah, why? What's happened?" "I heard her little sister just got Dead Mom'd some time ago." "Oh that's awful! And she was so young, wasn't she like 30?" "Yeah she was 32, had a baby with that demon lord when she was 16 and now there was some demon incident at her house and her son's gone missing, too. Probably hunting down the demons who did it."
