💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

1. He has claustrophobia from being imprisoned in Angelgard. He's terrified of being trapped in enclosed spaces.

2. He's also afraid of the dark from his time in Angelgard.

3. He still has a lot of scourge absorbed in his body, so he still sees and hears things that aren't there. They're not as bad now that he has Aera around and is in a slightly better mental state, but he still has them.

4. He used to have scourge visions of Aera visiting him back when he was with the empire. He stopped getting those visions after he killed Luna.

5. He also gets really feverish rage-filled scourge visions of Somnus. He's ended up attacking people on multiple occasions because he thought they were Somnus.

6. He used to feel really close to Somnus until the scourge and the conflict over the crown tore them apart.

7. When he was wandering around healing the scourge he disapproved of his brother's methods and generally thought he was a bit of a prick, but he would still sometimes miss the way things used to be between them.

8. He felt like he was responsible in a way for how cruel Somnus ended up becoming during the scourge. He felt like if he had noticed how Somnus was changing earlier when they were younger he might have been able to help him.

9. I have a headcanon that Ardyn can sleep, but doesn't really need to. I headcanon that on the few occasions he actually does sleep he has really bad nightmares.

10. They're usually about Aera dying. Sometimes they're about his imprisonment in Angelgard.

11. Before he found out about his fate and Aera's betrayal he would go to visit her grave every year on the anniversary of her death and leave a single red sylleblossom.

12. He felt really pathetic about it and would always tell himself that this year was the last, but he would still keep going every year until he found out about her betrayal.

13. He felt a lot of guilt over Aera's death. He felt responsible for it to the point that for a long time he sort of considered himself to be the one that killed her.

14. Ardyn had a scourge vision of Aera standing in the background when he killed Luna. She slowly faded away as Luna died after he stabbed her. That was the last time he ever had a vision of her.

15. I headcanon that the scourge makes him feel really physically ill. It makes him immortal, but he constantly feels like he's dying. He's in constant pain. He's gotten used to it now, but back when he was wandering around healing folks of the scourge it used to cause him a lot of trouble. Some days were so bad he couldn't get out of bed.
