ok, so I've finally broke, and decided to rant about what the turtles handwriting would look like in rottmnt.

I feel like Mikey would treat writing like an art form. His letters would be very round and bubbly, also totally uses hearts for the dot in i when he's feeling fancy.

If he's writing something, you're definitely going to find doodles on the sides, or even in between lines. He gets distracted, ok.

I don't think he'd really have a consistent style, sometimes he writes normally, sometimes his letters have a little extra swirl to them. Sometimes they're so stylized that you can't tell whether it's a y, or a really fancy flower.

He likes writing with mechanical pencils, cause be likes the click click, and he doesn't have to pause his flow to go and sharpen his pencil.

As much as I'd love to believe that Raph would have very nice and orderly handwriting, I like this more.

Raph's hands are huge, and typically, pencils are small. So, it'd stand to reason that undersized pencils combined with big fingers leads to not the best handwriting.

I think his words would either stretch across the page, or squish together so much that the letters start to merge together, with no in between.

Since his hands are so big, I think his strokes would be really simple. Straight lines mostly, sometimes shaky, especially when they're really curvy letters. I'd bet that his s would look more like a 5.

Y'know those jumbo pencils? I think he'd have a field day with those.

Donnie has, a lot of writing styles, organized in alphabetical order.

Yes, I included binary because I feel like he'd randomly leave notes in binary to annoy his brothers.

Normally, he'll write in precise lettering. Even spaces between every letter, straight lines of text, and letters that would make a textbook jealous. He'll use this style of writing when making lists or letters, something that other people are going to look at.

However, when it comes to his personal work, his writing would be more messy. Think jotting down the bare essentials of an idea before it slips away, or making quick notes on his blueprints.

I do think he'd prefer typing over writing any day though. He only writes regularly because it's something he can impress others with, and if he doesn't practice, his perfectly crafted handwriting will become mediocre or whatever.

Definitely likes ballpoint pens. Would use feathered quills for the aesthetic, but the ink always runs out way too fast, and risks blotting ink on the paper.

I like to believe that Leo is a medic, so of course he would learn gregg shorthand. Not really to be all professional though. You know how people try to encode their diaries because they're paranoid that someone else will read them, even though the diary has a lock and is hidden away in a secret location?

Anyways, what better way to hide all your secrets away from your prying twin than too write it all down in what looks like a grand ole mess of scribbles.

Unlike Donnie, Leo could not write in a straight line to save his life. Random letters are connected in some vague sense of half calligraphy, and some letters are left half finished in the rush to get to the next one.

Donnie has tried to get Leo to write more properly, however, whenever he tries, Leo just starts purposely making his writing worse. So, despite the pain it causes Donnie, letting Leo do his thing is better than the alternative.

He probably got obsessed with those erasable pens for a while. Has one favorite pen, it has a little metal weight in it that slides whenever it tips to one side.

Are there any sonic video essays you like? There have been some good ones recently. The 8 hr video about Sonic CD's game design and that video about Shadow the Hedgehog on Gamecube and the War on Terror come to mind.

New Sonadow Fic: Ballad of the Golden Phantom

Ballad of the Golden Phantom - Chapter 1 - Nebrasska - Sonic the Hedgehog - All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

Summary:

For years now, Sonic has been presumed dead.

Shadow carries his grief heavily with him. Unspoken feelings and secret attractions all remain clutched close to his chest as he struggles to move on from a tragic love. The world is bleak without Sonic, and because of this, Shadow finds himself purposeless and alone.

However, in the middle of the night, a phantom appears to haunt him; an apparition of crimson eyes and golden fur who isn’t quite the Sonic that Shadow remembers. And despite himself, Shadow not only wants answers, but a second chance with the one he lost.

New Shadow POV fic!!! This is what my heart wanted to write, so this is what we're going to do!!! I will be releasing chapters twice a week for the first two weeks to get things going, and then once we reach chapter 5 we'll slow down to updates on the weekends only. This way, we'll be well into the plot when 'From the Shadows of the Deep' finishes up, and trust me, this one will be getting crazy fast haha
