I just saw 50 Shades of Grey

To all who said this was all about abuse and rape I say "What?" Did you even take the time to read anything this is about or watch it to make those assumptions?

I was taken to this movie by my girlfriend who only convinced me because she thoroughly enjoyed the books and the movie once already. (For the record I wanted to see Kingsmen)

Throughout the movie she would sarcastically whisper "abuse" to me as though to say these are the places the people who didn't even think to open up for a second's thought would have cried foul. It was ludicrous to think that people thought this was rape and abuse.

The amount of times the questions "is that okay?" "are you okay?" and "are you sure?" were asked were too numerous to count, as well as the phrases "if you want" "if it's okay with you" and "with your consent" Oh, and the one time she says no, he stops and doesn't go any further. Isn't that what everyone is complaining about? He stops when she says no.

The love story is sweet if not a little bit messed up but that's just because it isn't what we consider "normal" that's fine, who doesn't have those fucked up bits of them.

For all the whining that everyone has done over this movie, I am actually kind of amused. It was a nice movie. I enjoyed it. but I still wanna see Kingsmen tho...
