“i mean no offense, but it adds weight to my embarrassment that it was you who happened to witness me bust my butt. you’re, like, pretty and… uh, cool… as i’m sure you know.” elijah remarked, his cheeks flushing an even deeper shade of red as he grabbed her hand and was finally able to lift himself off the icy ground. “to be fair, it’s not the ice that made me fall. it was certainly a contributing factor, but my hostile relationship with gravity probably played a larger part in that.” okay, elijah, please stop talking. he was prone to overshare when nervous, which was a fairly regular emotion in his life.

Ariana couldn’t help but the her lips turn up into a smile as she heard the boy ramble on, “I don’t know about the whole pretty part, but the cool part, I definitely know” she joked. Her smile never faded as the boy talked, being from the richest family in New York she was used to boys being total douchebags or arrogant assholes. Talking to Elijah was always like taking a breath of fresh air. Not listening to a boy talk about stocks or how many girls he’s fucked in the first ten seconds was amazing. “It sounds like you need a walker of some-sort... Ooh or maybe a scooter chair thing. That would be nice, not having to walk everywhere” Ari said with a shrug. “Where are you off to?”

“i’ve become quite a snobby bitch with my chai lattes,” natalia admitted with a smirk. she was stoked to see her sister, often missing their chats. they were twins, after all, and natalia knew she could never be as close to anyone else. come on, they shared a womb. “there’s this cute little place here in SOHO. they pretty much make starbucks look like the biggest of jokes. it’s only a block from here if you want to come with me? i could use another chai.” natalia offered, a bright smile directed at ariana. “besides, i need to hear all the tea from your life. there’s no way you have more shit going on than me,” she remarked, almost as if it were a challenge. the two were both rather feisty, so it wasn’t uncommon for both of them to be in some sort of mess. natalia sometimes wondered if it were just a serrano trait. 

“You? A snobby bitch?” she joked giving her an elbow. Ari has always been super close to her sister, but living in different boroughs of the city made it harder to see her daily. Listening to her sister she gave her a nod, I have time! I have nothing till one, so lets get to it” she smiled. “Sadly there isn’t much tea happening, yours will be way more interesting I know” she winked. The brunette started walking with her sister down the streets of New York.

Ariana was out for her daily walk to her yoga class, she wanted to try a different one this morning. She noticed Elijah cross the way, she also noticing Elijah not being able to stand on his own two feet for too long. Walking over to him she put her hand out to him, “You know I’m going to laugh at you” she said with a wink. “Listen, I know you aren’t from here, but isn’t the ice normal to you by now?” she joked. 

elijah was quite possibly the clumsiest human on the planet for as long as he could remember. his deviance to gravity started very young and led to many broken bones over the years. although he had lived in new york for a while now, the southern man would likely never be used to the snow and ice that came with new york living. as he walked along the side walk within midtown, he didn’t realize he was walking directly on to a thick patch of ice. without much of a warning, eli slipped on the patch, falling backwards on to his bottom hard. “jesus christ!” he yipped as he hit the ground, looking around to catch the eyes of the one person who seemed to notice his faux pas. “i ain’t gonna blame ‘ya if i catch you laughing,” he remarked with his southern drawl ever present as he poorly attempted to lift himself off the ground. truly, his ego hurt much worse than the fall itself.

“So...” the girl started as she looked at the person standing on the street. “I have to ask where you go that from?” she said pointing to the cup in the others hand. “I normally am not in this area, so I’m not sure where to go” the girl said with a shrug of sadness. “I feel like I am not myself without my cup of joe. That is the phrase right?”

Background

Ariana grew up just like any other Upper East Sider. Limos, galas, balls, Hamptons in the summer. Her life was never very difficult honestly, but she knew that. Ari knew how fortunate she was, but that didn't stop her from partying it up every night. At first it was just to get out of the house, have some fun. But the more time that passed the more she got into drugs. The girl did hide it very well, for a while no one even knew what she was doing at 2AM. One night changed her whole life, finally waking up after her night out she found out one of her best friends died of an overdose.

Ari knew she had to make a choice at that very moment. Go down the same path, or find something better for herself. She chose the latter. After seeing countless therapists and whatever 'healer' she had that day, she became sober... Well almost sober. She still enjoyed a martini from time to time, maybe even a joint. Her partying till 5AM turned into waking up at 5AM for her early morning workout.

Ariana decided to make a YouTube channel, dedicated to bettering yourself and the people around you... We will see how long this lasts..
