So I have had a friend who has gone above and beyond in helping me with stuff, and I am super appreciative for that. I need some more help this month, though, and I don't want to overburden them, so I'm hoping I can get some help from others.

My friend helped cover my overdraft and a $430 loan payment that would have overdrawn my account if I'd put anything into my account, so I can now put any donations in my account to pay off the $238 electric bill.

We still need to clean out our storage unit of the big items we're not bringing to the apartment, and it's going to be around $800. So we need to try and raise that ASAP so we can stop paying for two units every month.

Any help would be amazing, whether it's with donations or reblogs. Thanks in advance!

The BBC's continued transphobia

In case anyone missed it, on 19 June a BBC reporter named Martine Croxall was teleprompted to talk about the health impacts of the British heatwave on pregnant people. She, live on air, treated this phrase with disdain and changed it to 'women', a clear and overt disrespect towards trans men, nonbinary, and intersex people capable of pregnancy. This was my complaint, their response, and my follow up:

The BBC is increasingly disgustingly blatant in their favouritism towards transphobia. Calling Croxall's comment 'accurate and impartial' is anything but, and I refuse to let them continue to claim it is.

I am always afraid to post about this because I'm afraid I'll oversaturate you all. And that you'll start rolling your eyes. Or they'll glaze over. But I also have very few places I can ask for help about it.

My friend Maram's solar panels were damaged by a military strike and she needs to replace the. Due to extreme shortages, aid theft, and price hikes (not to mention a 55% withdrawal of cash or money changing commission), this is going to cost her around $3000.

She uses the panels to charge her phone and computers, thus keeping her in touch with the outside world. (Including me!)

And after the recent strike on an internet cafe, killing dozens, where, among other reasons, people gather to charge their devices, I am all the more so afraid that she won't be able to charge her phone and computer from a safer place.

If you can help out, please contribute here. The forever disclaimer - the website makes it look like she has so much money but in reality it's all constantly being spent on necessities in an impossible environment.

This is personal to me too. If she can't charge her phone or computer, then I lose contact with her and I don't even know if she's alive.

hey! if you live in ohio and it is not yet June 30th, please speak up for libraries and queer kids

the ohio legislature recently added a measure to the budget bill (House Bill 96) which requires public libraries to move any materials related to gender or sexual orientation to areas not visible to those under 18. obviously, this will protect nobody and will only do harm. Governor DeWine has the ability to line item veto this harmful, expensive, and stigmatizing measure and it would only take a minute or two to reach out and (respectfully) make your position known.

I strongly suggest mentioning if not highlighting the deficit and ICE's wasteful and unnecessary budget in your call. In this version of the bill, ICE is set to receive more funding than the Marines and become the world's most expensive police and detention force.
