Despite not having really had anything to do with Pillars for months/years at this point, I had the sudden realisation as I was walking home from work yesterday that I'd established Ariela as having trouble tuning out "loud thoughts"/people experiencing intense emotion, so in the moment or two before she had her soul snatched by Eothas, she almost certainly felt the panic and fear of everyone in Caed Nua as the earth erupted below them-

Normally I have a personal policy against redoing fairly recent pieces, but my custom PoE portrait was just too good a choice for testing some things about a new art process. I’m pretty pleased with it, and it looks nice in the game, too!
