Phantom of the Opera Tour
After rarely seeing a musical at Shae’s, I found the environment to be extraordinary from Phantom of the Opera. My favorite scene was the Chandelier falling and it’s affects, ability to surprise, and attention to detail, all continued throughout the show. I was so happy to see it just for the scenery. Every scene was another added element. The curved wall that represented back stage and it’s hidden staircase were all so carefully thought out. It is amazing to see how much scenery is prepared in the real backstage for in order to take it on tour, it takes ten busses!
Sadly the performers weer not as up to par, even some of the costumes were a little cliche. For me it is so hard to pay attention to a musical when the singing isnt the best, I think that is why I liked the prologue so much. Completely instrumental, it heightened the drama of the Chandelier being revealed.
Over all, again I was happy to see it but I do wonder how it is staged in other productions!

ZDE 2018! What a journey that was. I will admit, I admire lighting way more than I did 3 years ago. It is truly what makes a show a show. Being able to experiment with such processes was truly an honor and I would love to do it again someday!

Highly recommend taking an art class in times of high stress or business. It’s a way to clear your thoughts as well as exert some hidden creativity!
