“School’s Out,“ a new StoryCorps animation.
Rev. James Seawood recalls the sudden and unanticipated changes that came to his small Arkansas town following the federal mandate to integrate the public schools in the 1950s.
“School’s Out” is presented in partnership with WNYC’s Snap Judgment. Tune in this weekend to hear the story.

Decided to make an impromptu float of the headwaters of the Kings River yesterday. We could not find alot of information on this section, but went for it anyways.
Needless to say it turned into an epic adventure, and our beginner packrafting skills were likely a bit over reached but still a blast. We floated for an hour through a large storm witch brought the river up faster than I have ever experienced, navigated large boulder fields, paddled off several waterfalls, struggled against at least three huge strainers, and even managed to have a fight with a live wire fence that was strung across the river. With all this said I cant wait for this Fall, ready for some more boat time!
Check the photos out!
