It's not possible for mechanics to "get in the way of the story" in a TTRPG. Whatever outcome the mechanics natively produce *is* the story. There can be a mismatch between the story you want the game to produce and the story the mechanics naturally gravitate towards producing, in which case you should consider playing a different game that actually wants to produce the story you want to experience, but "mechanics getting in the way of the story" is not a thing.

I’ve been seeing a lot of anti-Nazi ones, which is great, but I felt like we needed one to show our support for the Jewish community.

The reason I got into this cause was because I learned that my grandmother was voting for a fascist candidate in the last French election. I do not care much for her but hearing this truly shocked me, she was voting for someone who would treat ethnic minorities the same as the turks treated us for centuries, I had no choice but to really invest myself in my roots even though my family is quite assimilated into French culture
I wish I could be a militant for the Armenian cause but in a recognise the genocide and give us our lands back so that we can create a pan-armenian socialist state kind of way not in a protect our christian brothers because they belong to western civilisation kind of way

I don’t know about other countries but I find it to be a legit problem with the diaspora in France where we mostly have conservative politicians pondering to us. I have the feeling that if the medz yeghern happened now they wouldn’t welcome us in this country given how they treat the kurdish or syrian refugees. Hearing about my great-grandmother and her story from a young age and knowing what the word genocide meant before the other kids has always oriented my political views as somewhat leftist. So I understandably get mad when I see my community welcoming support from the right when to me the Armenian cause has always been a leftist one
I wish I could be a militant for the Armenian cause but in a recognise the genocide and give us our lands back so that we can create a pan-armenian socialist state kind of way not in a protect our christian brothers because they belong to western civilisation kind of way

The "Americanization of the global internet" post and slow deterioration of local native culture gave me an idea: many users don't even know there is native language communities on this website, so if you know of a regional group/"subculture" on Tumblr, reblog/comment with the tags they use so people can find them and connect with other folks from their countries or speakers of a language they'd like to learn
I will try to update this post with every new addition to hopefully make a comprehensive list of Tumblr regional communities
The list so far:
Europe
• Czech
#česky, #hezky česky - general Czech language posts, frequently featuring user-written poetry, art, sometimes politics and current events, warning: often contains vent posts
#čumblr - Czech but frequently used by Slovaks as well, primarily memes and fandom things, shipping, art, cultural things, frequently overlaps with #česky
#obrození, #obrozujeme - memes and fandoms as well but with more emphasis of maintaining and developing Czech culture, is a mostly humorous parody/self-proclaimed continuation of the Czech National Revival of the 1800s, overlaps with #čumblr and #česky
• Slovak
#slovensky - general Slovak language posts
#slumblr, #sumblr - Slovak, general posts, memes, fandom and culture things, sometimes overlaps with #čumblr
• Polish
#polska, #polish - Polish, general posts, art, politics and current events
#polblr, #polishposting, #polskie rzeczy - Polish, more humorous general posts and memes, often overlap with the above
• Ukrainian
#ukraine - general Ukrainian posts, often in English
#укртумбочка - mostly used by artists
• General Slavic
#slav, #slavic, #slavposting, #slavic stuff - mixed Slavic, usually cultural things, memes, art and photography, sometimes politics, sometimes visited by other East Europeans
• Irish
#gaeilge - Irish, general posting but especially cultural things and memes, often features posts for language learning
• Welsh
#cymraeg - general Welsh posting, memes
• Romanian
#romanian - general Romanian tag
#romanisme, #vlandom - Romanian, mostly memes and humor
• Hungarian
#magyar, #hungarian, #tumbli - Hungarian language, mostly quotes
• Finnish
#suomitumblr, #suomitumppu, #suomipaskaa, #suomeksi, other variations beginning with suomi - general (shit)posting
any and all swear words such as #perkele, #vittu, #saatana, #helvetti and #paska - shitposts, overlap with above
• Dutch
#dutch, #the netherlands, #netherlands, #holland, #nederland, #nederlands - general Dutch posts
#nedermemes, #dutchcore - memes, shitposting
• German
#deutsch, #german stuff - general German posting
#BundesTag - memes and humor
blogs like @official-deutschebahn, @official-german-medienlandschaft and other official-deutsche- blogs, "because THE joke of German tumblr is to act like an overly bureucratic public institution"
• French
#upthebaguette, #french side of tumblr - general French posting but especially memes, comics, art
Please share around wherever you're from, US American local cultures are welcome as well, especially indigenous (though that should go without saying)

սիրելի հայ ընկերներ
while our rescue teams work hard to help those who need it in turkey and syria, you can donate warm clothes, sweaters, comforters, blankets, thermal underwear, socks, etc. in yerevan (movses horenatsi 3, intersection of mashtots and khorenatsi). this will go to the victims in hard-to-reach areas of syria and the syrian armenian community
diaspora armenians can donate money to the all armenian fund or here (in russian)

Have you ever thought about coining some more Valyrian names, after you developed the language so far? What would be YOUR name in High Valyrian?
Basically, you take a noun or verb and turn it into a name by adding an ending commonly used with names—or, if it doesn't add, adding whatever you need to to the word in order to be able to add that name ending. Valyrian names (which are nouns, of course), typically end in:
-ys
-on
-ion
-a
-e
-ia
-or
-os
These are all nominal endings, but sometimes you can't add a nominal ending directly. For example, if your name is derived from a verb, chances are it's going to become a participle first (a type of adjective), and then that will be turned into a noun via one means or another. This is how you get roots that are short, but names that are typically three syllables.
I've only ever come up with one name, and that was for my bronze dragonborn bard for when I played D&D 5E. I chose bronze for my dragonborn, because (a) he can shoot lightning, and (b) I love the word for bronze in Valyrian.
In Valyrian, first you have copper, which is brāedion—an overly pretty word that I kept around because Valyrian is an overly pretty language (to the point of silliness sometimes). From that, the augmentative gives us brāedāzma, which is bronze. From there I got the name Brāedāzmion, which is exactly what my delightful, gregarious, no-worries, let's-be-friends, everything's-a-party-and-everyone's-invited dragonborn needed to pursue his lifelong dream of maybe just ignoring everything, since he had the unique ability to put on a concert anywhere at any time, so why not just kick back, have fun, make money, and live a nice long life full of luxury and free from danger?
Oh, and I guess I did name a whole bunch of my dragons on Flight Rising, but you can't do macrons, so I typically don't put as much thought into them.
