"I do want to address what's happening right now outside of the building. There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order. Trump is using military forces to stop a protest. And I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that? People are being swept up and torn from their families, and I feel it's my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people, for black people, for Latino people, for trans people, for the people in Gaza. We all deserve to live in hope and not in fear. And I hope we stand together, my brothers and my sisters, against hate and we protest against it. Thank you, BET"

surely if i gnaw and worry at this old scar until it reopens and widens into an exit wound it'll finally allow the pain to escape and i'll be free. it's in the name innit. "exit" wound.

Imagine, some years from now, some poor unsuspecting soul finds an elevator shaft in this middle of no where ghost town of Cerro Gordo and it still works. It’s an insane, 45 minutes down into the nearby mining shaft with plenty of time to think about what could possibly be down there in the years since the mine closed.
And there,
In the darkness
Visage worn by the intervening years

He’s been here the whole time

4am scrambled thoughts hold my hand folks:
I think all of these character choices / vibes at the end of the season are not only informed by Bobby dying but intrinsically linked. Hen is retreating to her safe space in home and family. Buck is unmoored, literally homeless. Eddie is following orders, which, again, is his safe space. Chim is taking on Bobby's "life" in many ways as a sort of payment for the life debt he feels he owes him.
They are not the same people in 8x18 as they were in 8x13 they are clinging to rafts by their fingernails. This is just the beginning of them building their boat, their family, back together.
This not the end of the story, after all.

the way ravi was so starry eyed and throwing himself into eddie’s arms was so funny. like eddie pulled that idea straight from a cartoon basically and its not like all that unheard of for them to use zip lines for rescues anyway and here comes ravi “how did you come up with that?? 🤩🤩🤩” panikkar

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love
