getting emotional about all those creepypasta stories that are transparently just teens writing about killing their parents and running away, those lil guys must have been so mad
#when i was ~10 i wrote some dark comics in my notebook#including a comic where someone died. i think it was my classmate who drew comics w me?#maybe that was a sign of something being wrong with me#anyway the teacher somehow found out and scolded me 👍

tbh the funniest part of being aro/apl/afam for me is hearing people bitch and moan about how their lover or their friend or their family member is a massive piece of work, and then they pull the "but i love them" in the weariest voice ever heard and i get to stand there absolutely shook because. What. like okay i can understand loving people (been there done that 4/10 experience), but loving them even though theyre being a total ass towards you? what are the absolute fuck are you talking about.

you could argue that since the target audience are not furries the games are not furry games and you would probably be right. i just choose to view them as furry because i like characters who are animals, and this is a superior interpretation because i said so.
it's sad when a game that is clearly a furry game is not treated as such. mainly thinking about nine sols but probably also hollow knight. like the target audience of these games is not furries and the people attracted to the characters (while acknowledging their animalistic parts, since there's a lot of "i'm not a furry" denial) are the minority. what the hell. the gaming community should become more furry right fucking now

bug fables feels more furry than hollow knight because of its small community, and slightly more focus on bug specific society and behavior

We often talk about "ludonarrative dissonance" in terms of morality and situations like "the story says violence is bad, but the gameplay enables and encourages you to kill things" but my actual fave version of it is "the story says you have a very serious plot-relevant time-sensitive thing to do, but the gameplay enables and encourages you to buzz off into the world and search for collectibles for five weeks"

Gonna put the disclaimer that I'm a trans man so I don't know if this is different for trans women. What's the issue with describing someone as male/female socialised? Cus for me I would describe myself as female socialised growing up because for my whole life into my mid 20s there was pressure from others (parents, family, friends, general society) to act in a certain way and be a certain way that they felt was feminine and acceptable. So I was literally socialised as a female regardless of what I felt. I can see how that might not be accurate for people who came out at a younger age because people will have reacted differently to that but for people who made it to adulthood before realising they would have been socialised as their agab surely?
The thing about Gender Socialization is that tme trans people tend to use it as a weapon against trans women; that our "socialization" makes us inherently a threat and inherently disconnected from womanhood, both of which are things I'd argue are straight up not true.
The language of Socialized X implies that we as trans people passively accepted and fit into our assigned genders until some point, and that that assignment is something that will Permanently Mark us. As a trans woman, I basically only ever see it used as a polite way to call us Basically Men. It's a foot in the door for that argument- "oh but you were Socialzied Male, surely there's *some* maleness for you that i'm untainted by?"
so... yes people tried to force me into being a boy. it didn't work, though, and anyone who really wants to bring it up in regards to my current behavior is acting like it did.
