“That was traumatizing -- cleaning it was the worse, I still can’t unsee that--”
Chinese. So long as we don’t leave some molding in the fridge for a month like last time.

“okay -- fair enough, I guess” standing up and stretching, “Mexican or Chinese?”
It’s a good work out if you do it right. You know, cleaning the, er, Muggle way. Anyway, doesn’t matter. You said you were starving.

“Hey Hannah--” a warm smile tugging at his lips as leaned over to hug the woman before wrapping an arm around Mara, a chuckle slipping from his lips at the mention of the casserole, “you’ve made it farther than we have--” he chuckled, glancing at his mum.
“Once, Arran. We burnt the casserole once --” she huffed, despite her indignation, the amusement was clearly shining, “and we haven’t used the oven since--” he finished, turning his face into her Mara’s hair as he muffled his laughter, ignoring the glare the sent his way
“It’s nice to meet you, Hannah! it’s our pleasure and my son is unfortunately right-- it’s going to be nice to have an actual casserole -- something that’s not crusted--”
Hi.
Mara fell straight into Elizabeth’s arms before backing her way into the easy-fitting space between Arran’s arm and torso. “Mum bought a green bean casserole and she’s all bent out.”
Mara– I’m sorry, I did forget the milk in the first one.
Hi, Arran, darling. Thank you so much for having us over, Elizabeth, it’s wonderful to finally meet you. I’m Hannah.

“Sure-- yeah, that’s normal. Sounds exhausting, but okay --”
“I would have offered to help, but I don’t know if I believe that explanation yet--”
Cleaning under the furniture. It’s good to move that stuff around every so often.

“Cleaning? You were cleaning? That didn’t sound like cleaning--”
It’s been fifteen minutes. Besides, I was… cleaning.

He couldn’t help but glance at his mother nervously, “you’re going to be nice, right?” an eye-roll and what sounded like exasperation was all he got, “mum--”
“I like her. She came from somewhere and I like to think that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, Arran” their conversation soon cut short as the door swung open.
Do you have any idea how disastrous this was for me?
She’s not her and you aren’t me. But thanks for the confidence.

“Oi -- are you alive? I’m starving -- you said fifteen minutes. This isn’t fifteen minutes --” he groaned, slumped against the wall across his roommate’s door.

He couldn’t fight the smile that stretched his lips as his amusement took over, regardless of the shiny substance scattering the air, “neat trick” he mumbled, peering down at the residue that stretched the length of his index finger, he couldn’t help but swipe it along her cheek, “I’ve missed you--”
I wouldn’t.
{ As she pinched her wand between her thumb and forefinger, Mara’s palm smashed roughly into her left hand. A grin lifted the corners of her cheeks, because she knew what was coming, and even if she wouldn’t show him what her newfound favourite defense mechanism would do she absolutely would give him the aftermath, because it was all her. Debris: matter smaller than conceivable smashed into a million unseen pieces, and burst their weight into a thin glitter, fine enough to be wiped across her hands like a shimmering excess chalk. }

“Do I want to see what happens when you let go?”
“Should I be concerned for the flat -- Will Declan kill me?”
Wanna see what happens when I let it go?

“Tacos? I’ve been craving tacos and I attempted at making tacos and I don’t know how, but I somehow managed to mess that up-- it was a sad day for tacos everywhere--”
Probably. Do you want to put in a request? Mara’s been on an enchilada kick lately.

His eyes widened in complete and utter fascination as he let her go to watch, “how did you-- that’s wicked” he mumbled, his smile widening, “you’ve got to teach me that--”
Good. Watch this.
{ Mara relieved her wand from the pocket of her jacket and began to twirl it carefully toward the palm of her opposite hand. Larger circles replaced smaller, more furious ones as she reached the top of a mini-tornado, glossy lips muttering incomprehensibly all the time. }

“That’s impressive --” his brows raised as he glanced down at the box, “are you making something?”
Sorry, I’ll make sure it’s a more exciting box next time. A girl doesn’t get to be 5′9″ with a da of average height. Or a mom of average height, for that matter. Mostly from Da though.
