what if i were to share some of my lukewarm alador blight headcanons 

his parents were both high-ups in their coven with his father being a former abomination coven head and his mother being a prominent potioneer.

i definitely think his parents (more so his father) disproved of his merging of abominations and machinery, even at an early age. he saw it as a way a crutch for his “half-a-witch son” to use to pass by with subpar creations. 

anyways, despite this, alador did well in and enjoyed his abominations classes. he liked the relative flexibility with the forms.

he and odalia were friends from an early age in the way that amity and boscha were. the blights and odalia’s families had close ties through wealth and status and wanted to keep any friends within that ring. anyone that wasn’t was subject to intense scrutiny for high academic achievement. anyone who couldn’t meet any criteria was unacceptable.

i am one of those people who don’t think odalia was as bad as a child. still vindictive and cruel but lacking most bite. again, akin to boscha, but perhaps a bit more tolerable. she had an image to uphold, and having two of the brightest witches in her year as friends was a key part.

he and darius were also very early friends. like attached at the hip and wouldn’t do anything without the other friends. they met at school and alador was the one to introduce him to his (1) other friend.

i think alador may have been like the only one keeping their friend group together. i don’t think he took too much notice of the tension between odalia and darius. either that or it was just easier to ignore it. neither was blowing anything up, so why should he point it out? 

alador’s been a disaster bi from the start, crushing on both of his friends because of their power and intellect and their physiques. 

he was casually dating darius through their early teens and went to grom with him on more than one occasion. 

despite this, his parents convinced him odalia was the better match for the long run. after all, they knew best and she was stable. 

he broke things off with darius around their senior year without giving much of an explanation. he was already uncomfortable with communicating his emotions and he thought maybe darius wouldn’t be upset and maybe they could still be friends like nothing happened.

yeah, no, he was wrong. 

so, he turned to odalia. 

i think that she was the one to give him the idea to monetize his creations, seeing them as the perfect weapons. i also think that they were business partners before they were romantic partners. they started the first iteration of blight industries the year they graduated. 

in this starting stage where things were still modest, he was grateful for odalia’s know-how; her marketing strategies; her financial literacy. he was happy to just tinker while innovating the field of abominations in ways that his family couldn’t have expected.

they marry for tax benefits. that’s it. unless you want to subscribe to the hc that they got married to hide the twins’ pregnancy. which is another thought.

either way, i think they both were casual throughout their initial business partnership. very friends with benefits, if that. it was easier to not have so many emotions to muddle through. if there were any real feelings of love in the relationship it was early on and mostly coming from alador. 

the wedding was large. it was a way to flex the families’ wealth. 

alador absolutely considered reaching out to ask darius to be his best man, but even he recognized it was a bad idea. they hadn’t had a real conversation for years and all their interactions at coven meetings had been frosty at best. still, he invited him to the wedding.

it turns out time does not heal all wounds.

all the blight siblings can cook like extremely well. tell me i’m wrong.

it’s compensation for their parents’ pure lack of culinary skills. like you can’t tell me that odalia has been in a ten-meter radius of a kitchen in her entire life and, while the easy solution is abomination magic, i feel like they would only be as good as their creator y’know? and there’s no way alador can do anything more than like boil water and make toast. 

not saying the blight kids make food for the whole family but they definitely stomach whatever food is made and then sneak into the kitchen at 2 am to snack. and by snack i mean s n a c k

Things I HC happened in the world of “Encanto”

Part 2

- Not a child in town has ever had to wonder what a cloud feels like, and Pepa loves showing them

- Parents in the town basically use Dolores as their own personal “Elf on the Shelf”. They said “Be good, or Dolores will know and tell Jesus!”

- Isabela is very popular in the lead up to Día de Amor y Amistad, not because she is the town’s most sought-after bachelorette, but her flower abilities have made bouquet-giving a tradition in every household

- Traditionally during a wedding, couples carry a candle out of the church that they lit together, but in both Pepa and Julieta’s weddings, they used THE candle instead to emphasize the family’s significance to their union

- While Julieta is the “oldest” triplet, Pepa got married first, and when they did the shoe pick at the ceremony, it was Agustin’s shoe she picked up. When she tried to give it back to him, he accidentally tripped and literally fell into Julieta’s lap

- Most afflictions can be healed using Julieta’s gift, unless they are hereditary or genetic. This is why Mirabel has her dad’s eyesight, and has needed glasses from a young age

- When Pepa planned to announce that she and Felix were expecting Camilo, Bruno accidentally congratulated Julieta instead because he had seen in a vision that there would be two babies in the nursery, one from each sister. She hadn’t even known she was pregnant yet

- Each of the Madrigal girls got an elaborate quinceañera celebration, so Bruno spent weeks practicing for the first dance. He even picked out and bequeathed the heels. After Dolores and Isabela were born, he imagined participating in their ceremonies too…and then he went into the walls, only watching the dances from afar. He refused to watch Luisa’s or Mirabel’s

Félix & Agustín Headcanons

Agustín has taken multiple hits for his daughters and even his Sobrina & Sobrinos. He’s taken several falling potted planets to the head for his girls, pushed Camilo out of harms way, and once shielded Isabela & Dolores from some bees. Félix & Pepa will forever be grateful to Agustín for every time he’s protected his & their kids.

Félix & Agustín help keep Castia tidy. While their wives & kids go off to help the town, they stay and help around the house. They do the laundry, fix anything broken, feed some of Antonio’s animal friends, water Isabela’s plants, etc.

Just like when Camilo thought Mirabel was his twins, Camilo thought he also had two dads till he was 6.

“What do you mean Agustín isn’t my dad? What next huh? You gonna tell me Mira isn’t my twin? Pfff” “…Mijo do i have news for you-“

It doesn’t help that Félix would play along with the idea of Mirabel being his daughter (“Course she’s my girl! She has my charming looks”) and making kissy noises towards Agustín. He’d say “Ven paca chulo! Dame un beso!” as he smooshes Agustín face with his hands.

Aside from Julieta, Félix also likes to cook. He’s the one to make lunch for the familia. If the family’s busy out helping the town he’d take them their lunch. Whoever he finds last he sits and eats lunch with them.

Agustín & Félix take a day out their week to spend time with Bruno. Félix calls it their “Boys Night out”. While they’re out, if anyone dares to udder a single harmful word towards Bruno, it’s gonna end up in a fight. No one, absolutely no one is allowed to dis their brother-in-law.

After the fight the boys take their time getting home so they can come up with an excuse why they’re covered in brusies. Whatever lie they settle on doesn’t get the chance to be used cause already Julieta, Pepa, & Dolores are waiting at the doors of Casita to give them a healing meal and an earful.

When it’s just Félix & Agustín at home they end up chatting out on the back porch and talking about all the amazing things their kids have done that week and don’t get them started on their wives. They’d stay there talking passionately about them for hours.

Agustín is the number one fall guy for the kids. If they ever broke something or did something they were told not to do he’d 100% take the blame for them or hide it if he can. Luisa broke a vase? You know me honey, tripped over the darn thing. Antonio let his animal friends in the kitchen after you told him not to? Starts cleaning the mess & shooing any left over animals as fast as he can.

Félix has a hand man apron made by Julieta. He wears it every time he makes lunch and when he offers to help Julieta with making dinner.

These two have absolutely done the “You know what’s better than one baby? Two babies!” Both when they had Isabela & Dolores and Camilo & Mirabel.

After her gift ceremony, Mirabel spent a lot of time at home. She’d spend her time helping around the house with her dad & tío. Agustín & Félix would try their best to cheer Mirabel up. They’d make her laugh, let her run trough the hanged laundry, give her extra lunch/dessert, or just sit and talk with her. If she falls asleep Agustín or Félix (depending who she was with) would carry her around as they continued doing their chores.

Asian Newsies Headcannons

Jack Kelly is a Chinese American boy who was trafficked into America by posing as a merchant’s son, forced to assimilate to NYC culture, and ended up on the streets. He’s scared to embrace his Chinese side, especially since his late father wanted him to drop the language, but the newsies get him to embrace it again.

Crutchie actually can’t carry a conversation in Cantonese. He was quite young when he left China with a false family like Jack. He loves going to Chinatown, though.

Medda’s daddy is Chinese while her mom is black. She knew her mother better than her father, but she still hangs red paper lanterns up every New Year. She was the one who taught Jack English.

Jack used to hold imaginary conversations with the Moon Lady when he was little to make himself feel better.

When Jack and Katherine got married, he set off a bunch of fireworks as is tradition. The bulls showed up and he almost got arrested on his wedding day for disturbing the peace!

When the cops showed up, the newsies defiantly said they’d still have the wedding in jail. The cop decided they weren’t worth his time and left.

Katherine thinks it’s cute whenever Jack tells her old legends. She really likes the Ballad of Hua Mulan.

Henry can cook and do more than just eat; he makes the best dumplings, which Albert tends to steal.

Every Chinese New Year they go in a big group to Chinatown. The people living there have mixed feelings; some like having a group of kids because it’ s fun while others get mad about the mess they leave in their wake.

Mush secretly gets scared during the dragon dance but it’s so beautiful he can’t look away

When Buttons got kicked out of a deli for being Asian, the other newsies raised hell and started a protest. They got put in jail, but it was totally worth it.

Elmer is actually Buddhist; he came from England. His parents came from India. He hates seeing Buddha statues get thrown around and wants to open up a safe space somewhere

Sniper and Jo Jo are Korean and Hmong. They are totally in love and want to get their own place where no one invades on their privacy….

Finch is Filipino. He’s known for getting into brawls and stuff. But he can do a good article…at least when he’s dictating it to someone else. But he’s mad about the American genocide/war/conquest in his homeland and likes living chancy when it comes to his people

Smalls is half Japanese, half hapa. She secretly owns a beautiful kimono that used to be her mother’s . Her mother was a picture bride. She sometimes likes to take it out in private and in her hands over the beautiful sleeves, trying to remember what her parents were like
