               this  was  her  first  time  appearing  to  someone  (on  purpose).  she  didn't  quite  know  how  it  worked  yet,  but  she  knew  that  this  person  needed  a  friend,  and  she  wanted  to  BE  that  friend.

               she'd  been  watching  him  for  about  a  week  now  —  and  he  was  different  too.  he  wasn't  like  a  regular  human...  not  any  of  the  kind  she  had  known  anyway.  this  was  part  of  the  reason  why  she'd  chosen  him  —  she  thought,  he  might  not  be  afraid.

               ❝don't  be  frightened!❞  she  smiled  her  brightest  smile  as  she  walked  up  behind  him,  gently  touching  his  shoulder.  ❝they  call  me  lovie,  i'm  here  to  talk  with  you.❞

               mo  —  now  known  as  "lovie",  in  the  afterlife  —  hadn't  been  dead  for  long.  she  doesn't  think  so  anyway...  time  is  a  little  WEIRD  on  this  side  of  things.  it  wasn't  like  she  wasn't  grateful  to  be  here  still  in  SOME  way!  it  was  just...  sometimes,  she  wished  she'd  never  died  at  all.  she'd  been  so  young...  she'd  died  on  her  twenty-first  birthday, after all. that shouldn't be anyone's fate.

               ❝i  just  remember  diving  in  after  her,❞  lovie  mused,  a  haunted  look  on  her  face  as  she  looked  off  into  the  distance.  ❝i  don't  remember  anything  else  after  that.❞  she shrugged, sniffing. there  had  been  some  sputtering,  some  darkness,  the  feeling  of  floating  —  but  that  had  been  all.  she  hadn't  been  there  for  when  her  soul  had  left  her  body...  but,  she  suspects,  her  counterpart  had  been  there  for  enough  of  that  for  the  BOTH  of  them.

               ❝how  did...❞  she  started before  she  could  stop  herself, looking up at irene.  maybe  asking  what  she  was  going  to  ask  was  rude?  she  didn't  know...  like  she  said,  she'd  only  been  here  for  a  short  period  of  time — irene  was  the  first  person  she'd  met  over  here  so  far.  ❝how  did  you  die?❞
