PABLO PICASSO
As this legend quoted himself - “EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE IMAGINED IS REAL.”
Tumblr media
Pablo Picasso as the world knows was a great Spanish sculptor, painter, stage designer, poet and playwright.Born on 25th October 1881, he spent his adult life in France.
He has been mentioned as one of the most influential artists in the 20th century. Picasso even has his contribution in the famous cubist movement.
Picasso's work is often categorized into periods. While the names of many of his later periods are debated, the most commonly accepted periods in his work are the Blue period (1901–1904), the Rose period (1904–1906), the African-influenced period (1907–1909), Analytic cubism (1909–1912), and Synthetic Cubism (1912–1919), also referred to as the Crystal period.
Let’s know about some of Picasso’s famous techniques:
Intaglio
Engraving
Drypoint
Etching
Aquatint
Scraper
Lithograph
Linocut
Steel Facing
The mood of a painting can be strongly influenced by its colors. Interestingly, there are several cases where a painting’s colors are quite abnormal, but the luminance is correct. Our Where system sees the paintings clearly, but our What system is confused by the coloring.
Self-Portrait, Pablo Picasso, 1901. Here, Picasso presents himself as a romantic, bohemian figure — a moody young artist who fixes the viewer with a hypnotic stare.
In Picasso’s “Blue Period” (1901-1904), his blue paintings portray destitute human beings. Blue was chosen deliberately — deep and cold, signifying misery and despair — to intensify the hopelessness of the figures depicted, such as beggars, prostitutes, the blind, out-of-work actors and circus folk, as well as Picasso himself and his penniless friends. At the time, Picasso even wore blue clothes.
La Celestina, Pablo Picasso, 1904. Celestina, a notorious procuress from a 15th century Spanish play is the subject of one of the last great works of Picasso’s Blue Period.
The “Blue Period” dramatizes the artist as an outcast from society. Indeed, in Paris at that time, far from family and home, Picasso is unrecognized, unappreciated and in extreme poverty. Moreover, as Jaime Sabartes, his closest friend at the time.

DALI SALVODOR
Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí was born on 11th may 1904, known professionally as Salvador Dali. He was a prominent Spanish surrealist born in Fugeres, Catalonia in Spain.
Tumblr media
Dali was a skilled draftsman best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of renaissance masters. His best-known work, The persistence of memory, was completed in August 1931. Dali's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, at times in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.
He attributed his "love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes" to an "Arab lineage", claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors.
Dali was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics.
Dali had his own techniques for his unique paintings like Surrealism. It is the stressing of subconscious or irrational significance of imagery, or in more simplistic terms, the use of dreamlike imagery. Dalí's absurd imagination has him painting pictures of figures no person would even dream of creating. Dali was intrigued with the images which occur at the boundary between sleeping and waking. They can occur when people are falling asleep, or when they are starting to wake up, and they tend to be extremely vivid, colorful and bizarre. He experimented with various ways of generating and capturing these fantastical images.
His favorite technique is that he would put a tin plate on the floor and then sit by a chair beside it, holding a spoon over the plate. He would then totally relax his body; sometimes he would begin to fall asleep. The moment that he began to doze the spoon would slip from his fingers and clang on the plate, immediately waking him to capture the surreal images
THE BURNING GIRAFFE:
Tumblr media
This painting is seen as the expression of Dali's personal struggle with the civil war that was going on in Spain. The painting shows two feminine figures with phallic shapes protruding from the backs. The hands, forearms, and face of the first figure have been stripped down to the muscular tissue. Furthermore, there are opened drawers protruding from leg and chest of the figure.
TUNA FISHING:
Tumblr media
This painting is considered to be one of Dali's last great masterpieces. It took him two summers to create this art in which, apart from surrealism, he has used other styles such as Pop Art, Action painting, Pointillism, psychedelic art, and geometrical abstraction. Tuna Fishing depicts a violent struggle between men and large fish - a personification of the limited universe.
GALATEA OF SPHERES:
Tumblr media
After the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Dali became enthralled with nuclear physics and the theories of disintegration of the atom. Furthermore, it was also the period where he had renewed his interest in Catholicism. This led to Dali's Nuclear Mysticism period, in which his art used ideas from modern science as a means of rationalizing the Christian religion. Realizing that all matter is made up of atoms, Dali made sure that his works appear to disintegrate into multiple atoms.
CHRIST OF SAINT JOHN OF THE CROSS:
Tumblr media
This painting gets its name from the fact that it is designed based on a drawing by the 16th-centuy Spanish friar John of the Cross. This artwork consists of a triangle, which is formed by the arms of Christ and the horizontal of the cross; and a circle, which is formed by the head of Christ. The triangle could be seen as a reference to the Holy trinity, while the circle might represent unity.

LEGALLY BLONDE
Tumblr media
Truly a masterpiece by a very renowned novelist Amanda Brown, LEGALLY BLONDE starring F.R.I.E.N.D.S’s fame Reese Witherspoon. This movie originally being a novel has made a great impact in the Hollywood. Released in 2001 with a comedy genre this movie was directed by Robert Luketic.
OH SO BLONDE!!!
Yes this tagline suits this movie accurately.
This masterpiece focuses upon a Sorority girl who wants to win her ex-boyfriend back by getting a Juris Doctor  degree .
Referring someone as a Blonde usually means to say that the person is dumb but this movie is a fist in the face of the people by proving that blondes are just as smart as anyone else and YESSS we should flaunt it “LEGALLY”.
The pun in the title was basically to refer to ‘LEGALLY BLIND’.
Tumblr media
DO YOU SEE THAT??
Ever wondered wearing such colors in the courtroom? SHE JUST DID IT.
Talking about breaking the streotype , this girl proves it in all the manners.
The film starts by a girl called Elle woods getting into the college to get his ex-boyfriend back. She faces quite loads of trouble fo her own personality being so much different from the basic ‘law college’ students. Yes she was very unaware at the very beginning of her classes but as soon as she built interest she soared so high. Not just by learning books word-by-word but by actually applying her own unique practical knowledge.
Tumblr media
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE BEATS EVERYTHINGG!!
Ofcourse she was degraded by a lot of people, was demotivated and even buried but it was just her different personality and mind set that lead her such a long way.
No doubt that it was quite a journey for her. Being so different from others, not being as good academically as the others, dressing in her own way which got too many eyes on her, because ,let’s face it nobody likes to go through or see any change.
What made this movie so inspirational is that she never felt lead down and she always did what she wanted to do.
Tumblr media
At the end we witness that she actually won a case with her own style of knowledge, she made some good friends and above all, SHE PROVED HERSELF. She made people believe that it is not important to to walk with everyone together, it is important to make yopufr own identity and flaunt it like a pro.
Tumblr media
SHE WON THE CASE AND OUR HEARTS.!!

MADHUBANI
Before talking about the history let’s know about how it all started?
Tumblr media
A pride of India, MADHUBANI, initially started from Mithila state of Bihar by the women of the state making them more empowered. Madhubani has also it’s roots in Nepal.
Unlike other arts and paintings Madhubani was not done by brushes but with fingers, nib-pens,match sticks.
Tumblr media
What makes its more catchy is the selection of the colors for the excellent color blocking which makes it pleasing for our eyes. The reason why these colors complimented each other is just the fact that these colors were derived from the plants, which makes the occurrence of these colors natural and this enhances the Beauty of this art. The use of earthy pigments is also done for darker colors.
Madhubani art was initially done on mud walls and floors of the hut but now it has evolved on cloth, making it accessible for almost everyone so that this art can be cherished by the masses as well. This art had been restricted just to some particular areas which reduced the chances for this art to spread any further. But the older generations have been passing their skills to their children which has actually made this art more popular through these years. The new generation definitely try to make their amendments but keep the colors of the traditional aspects true to their consumers.
Beauty of these paintings is that it’s shows the ancient Indian time in it’s true glory, like men with it’s association with the nature, the beauty of religions, diety of the ancient epics ,ancient Indian courts. The art also depicts objects like the sun, moon, tulsi(being the religious plant) which makes this art pure and certainly true to the Indian past. Usually the spaces between the figures is filled with flowers or patterns. making them fuller.
Tumblr media
Madhubani art comes in 5 different styles:
1. BHARNI
Tumblr media
Bharni art is just the further legacy of the main Madhubani art only difference being that Bharni art focuses on just the holy figures.
2.GODNA ART
Tumblr media
3. TANTRIK ART
Tumblr media
As the name suggests Tantrik art depicts the unsanctified figures which shows the possession of black magic in this world. These are made in order to show us the origin of evil spirits in the form of art.
ENCOUNTER WITH A MADHUBANI ARTIST
Tumblr media
K. Sreenivasulu from Andhra Pradesh tells us about how difficult, time consuming yet satisfying job is doing the madhubani art. He told us everything about all the stages of making this art happen. About how much cost is incurred and how much happiness it gives to him in order of fulfilling the traditions of his ancestors. We saw a very beautiful glimpse of his art which he potrayed in his stall. Welcoming us the traditional way, he way an account of how he shifted from Bihar to Andhra Pradesh so that he could give an even huge platform to this inspirational artwork.
