Here it is, my long winded tutorial, complete with some step by step action. I see a lot of people talk about wanting to diversify their artwork but not knowing how. This is my help to you. You really should take the time to invest in learning diverse eye shapes as diverse artwork always makes you a better artist. And frankly I’m really tired of drawing tutorials that talk up character diversity but only have the stereotypical “one Asian eye”.
I did some step by steps for those three diagrams, but I actually got them from this blog which has 14 of those examples! (Bonus: it’s a makeup blog so if you need help with that or want some idea of how to shade these eyes, there ya go)

Is there a website to look up models or people  to draw, with gender, ethnicity, and age filters. (if possible)?
For example if a wanted to make a cartoon character realistic and use a real person for reference or to edit the photo to look like them?
I’ve been just googling  white 20s male, black female 40s etc. (can’t find any good references for kids either)  and been sifting through the results.

I did some compositional how-to’s in my early weeks at Warner Bros. studios.   I thought it’d be great to post a series of these on the Tumblr’s for beginning board artists.
This is the first part - the rule of thirds.

I’m gonna propose “I guess you haven’t read the silmarillion then :/” as a default response to anyone not understanding a reference to something obscure. even if it’s not remotely Tolkien related. I want to build up a perception that perhaps the sum total of human knowledge is contained in the silmarillion

Character notes:
Boy definitely uses eyeliner
Iris's are oval not circular
eyebrows would make a vulcan proud
He's more angular then I thought. I guess because they all get softened up.
Not a drawing note but he makes me want to grow my hair out (FUCK YEAH DIRTY BLOND REP IN THE HOUSE)
Doesn't really have a chin, but there is a bit of space between his bottom lip and the end of his face, so I guess it counts.
Looooong face, much forehead, and his eyebrows do take up a lot of the forehead
Friend shaped. I would trust my drink with him if I needed someone to watch it in a club
how...ears...how do work??? Gotta practice that
Should smooth out the angles of his face next time. Rn he kinda looks like I drew him using a ruler...
Not bad for a first try, but keep practicing

I love it when paintings hit the point where they look like someone interupted them while they were blending their makeup.

For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - there’s an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.
It’s got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you don’t have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.
Examples (all done by me):

Here’s an example for how you can use it
