u can’t have every slave owner say every music form black ppl created is garbage and never has any feeling or intelligence and then be raised by those slave owners descendants and hold the same views and then act like u have those views completely without influence of antiblackness………if u r saying the same exact statements as slave owners what does that make u….? thomas jefferson said “the negro is not capable of poetic expression” while owning real human beings and u rn in these modern times r saying the same thing…..maybe that should alarm u..no one is asking you to be raps #1 fan but ur dislike of it very likely is not stemming from any original thought

ud think id be used to it by now but seeing “black fatigue” getting taken by white conservatives and twisted to mean “fatigue of being around black people and all their ghettoness” yadda yadda instead of what it actually means….a phrase coined by black ppl meaning “a natural traumatic response to black people living under white supremacy” is so like….we r never getting out of this cycle they did it with woke which is a more egregious example but they literally take phrases from us all the time and use them incorrectly at us as a weapon you cant even make phrase to define ur experience as a black person in this country without it being stolen and used to demean you 😭 i wish yall thought everything we did and said was ratchet i hate when yall get whiffs of aave and then it gets into those communities and they turn it into something else

'all rap music is about money, guns, sex and drugs' is like a nearly 40 year old argument and it's still just as racist and inaccurate as it was in the past

Personally I'm not a big fan of the whole "instead of saying W*ndigo, Sk*nwalker, Spirit Animal, say x y and z" like maybe you can't and shouldn't reduce Native cultures to some pop culture swill made for your easy to consume cultureless identity. Maybe somethings simply aren't for you and you should suck it up and stop equivocating Native spirituality to personality quiz results.

like i cannot stress enough if ur white u have been raised and taught to view urself as the center of the world, almost all media caters to you, ur cultures viewpoints dictate the world, ur ancestors are the “victors” of colonialism and shaped the planet to fit white supremacy, that little voice in ur head that tells you to comment on every post about racism u see with stuff like “LISTEN to this white people” “im white, but this is important” “im as white as snow but i also agree with this” is not the compassionate gesture u think it is
that little voice is ur taught racist desire to center urself and ur opinion as more important and factual, something to be listened to above all else, because you were raised to believe you and everyone like you has the final say, you get uncomfortable when brown people voice frustrations because you don’t like reckoning with how the entire world is shaped in your image, you need to ignore that little voice that tells you your input is needed, because that little voice means absolutely nothing to the lived experiences of people of color, we donot need your approval or for you to agree for the racist history that has oppressed all of us to be true, we donot need YOU to tell us we are right when it has already been proven through history, through statistics, on the millions of lives lost to genocide and war in the name of white supremacy, you are not the center of the world, you are just taught that you are

Just a little PSA for all our mental health (and chronic pain*) spoonies out there! A lot of doctors neglect to mention this little side effect, which means a lot of us are suffering extra from the heat without knowing why.
*Many psych meds are used to treat chronic pain as well, if you didn’t know!

Do not think for a moment that this admin is only going after trans folks. They are ultimately going after the whole LGBTQ community. They start small, like getting rid of a hotline option, then go BIG.

the lack of recognition of how bathroom bills affect intersex people is intersexism.
this laws are usually pushed under transmisic agenda, and it's fair that trans rights advocacy addresses transmisia in these campains and laws. but these laws also affect intersex people.
some intersex people look visibly sex variant. and they are also seen as a threat to the sex and gender essentionalism. transmisia and intersexism are intertwined and may become inseparable in some parts.
intersex people are also at risk in gendered spaces. we can also be harassed, banned, charged for "violation," face various violence.
it's important to recognize that risk and remember about intersex people in discussions of these laws.

hey how about we stop trying to decide things for demographics/communities we're not even a part of.
transfems should not be able to dictate what the oppression of transmascs is, and vice versa.
goes for cishets too.
just stay in your own goddamn fucking lane, dawg. the fact that you care so much about how a minority group you're not a part of describes their axis of oppression seems really weird and like you're obsessed with them to an insane degree.
you're not a "good queer" if you get your knickers twisted over someone daring to say their experience as a trans/intersex/nonbinary/other non-conforming indentity person is different than the radfem slop you've been consuming all of your life

Basic info
Perisex means non-intersex. If you do not have an intersex variation you are perisex.
Hermaphrodite is a slur for intersex people.
Contrary to popular belief, it was actually used for intersex humans long before its adoption into zoology to be used for cosexual & dichogamous animal species.
It is being phased out of zoology due to its vagueness and derogatory history.
This movement is still in its infancy, so plenty of sources and communities still use this term. Intersex activists are trying to change this.
Reblog for reach, furries especially!

Basic life stuff on Father’s Day your dad may have never taught you
Men’s pants often have what’s called vanity sizing so a 32 inch waist between different brands is actually different sometimes. It’s still a good idea to try the pants on before you buy them.
A flathead screwdriver can be used on a Phillips head screw.
It’s always morally correct to simply walk away from a salesman. You don’t need to buy a mattress to be polite. Just leave. Walk away. Skedaddle.
A complete meal has fat, protein, carbs, and some kind of fruit or vegetable. A snack should have carbs and protein. That’s how you stay full for longer and get your vitamins. It’s really that simple.
Dumpster diving is legal in many countries including the US, Canada, and Australia but trespassing and property damage are illegal. If you are allowed to be in an area and can access the trash without breaking anything you can just take stuff
You should be thinking about retirement savings even in your 20s and 30s. Get a mutual fund.
If you go gambling, only spend cash and pull out exactly as much money as you’re willing to lose from the atm. Never use a credit card in a casino if you can avoid it.
You can add a layer of seasoning to a cast iron skillet right on the stove. You don’t actually have to put it in the oven every time.
To build a fire, build a little pile of kindling first with plenty of air under it. This can be sticks or leftover wood from the hardware store. Doesn’t matter. Then light some newspaper or leaves under it. This’ll help the kindling catch on fire. Then you can add a log to it. The log needs a long exposure to flames before it catches on fire.
Fresh cut wood needs to dry out for several months before it’ll work as either building material or firewood. Several years is even better.
Flower delivery for simple bouquets costs less than you think it does and makes a nice gift for people who are hard to shop for
University libraries often let the general public get a card to check things out from them for a yearly fee. This is useful to know if you’re ever doing some specific research.
To make hard boiled eggs easier to peel boil them with just barely enough to cover and let a lot of the water burn off. Then shock them in an ice bath when they’re done.
If you or your pets end up killing a venemous snake by accident or in self defense you should bury the head so that no animals get poisoned by it because the fangs can still distribute venom
Tall people who visit your house can see the tops of your cabinets and bookshelves. Clean accordingly if you don’t want people to see dust.
Annuals are plants that will die after one year and perennials are plants that live for multiple years
If you feel gross and like your life sucks maybe try getting a haircut

In many bills that ban gender-affirming care for trans people, there is what’s called an “intersex exception,” a clause that, judging by the name, suggests it protects care for intersex people.
Instead, these clauses permit nonconsensual surgeries to “normalize” the sex characteristics of intersex babies and children.
This kind of legislation often attempts to penalize doctors providing consensual care to trans teens, while protecting surgeons who operate on intersex infants who cannot consent.
At first glance, bills with “exceptions” suggest that intersex people’s access to medical care isn’t affected.
Instead, these bills protect a kind of intervention we don’t want and can’t consent to, while jeopardizing necessary health care, such as access to hormone replacement therapy for intersex people across the country.

i really don't like how some queer people treat intersex people. and by don't like, i mean i really fucking hate it and this shit needs to quit.
i find it incredibly ridiculous that a lot of queer people will try to erase intersex people from the queer community as if we don't belong here. and that's bullshit. it makes me sick as a matter of fact. it makes me sick the way some queer people will look at an intersex individual who is trans and say "you're not trans because [insert some bullshit reasoning as to why someone who's intersex can't be trans that both stems from, and feeds the harmful stereotyping of intersex people]". it makes me sick that some people will say the same about intersex people who are cis. it makes me sick that some queer people will hear someone say they're intersex and ask about their fucking genitalia. it makes me fucking sick to see some queer people just blatantly deny the existance of intersex people.
it makes me sick. it makes me angry. it makes me sad. it hurts me more than i can put into words. and for the love of god i hope it makes you angry too, even if you aren't intersex. you don't have to be intersex to understand and acknowledge the oppression we face and how we're treated by parts of our own community.

i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is “international” pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. martha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that “you owe your rights to Black trans women” is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1989. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.
