Short answer: you just do!

But if you need some suggestions to get you started-

Animals

Cats, birds, lizards, slugs, all sorts! Natural or vibrant colors or any combination in between!

Skeletons

The flame headed, calcified numbsk*lls. Just stick a colored flame on a skeleton and you're good to go!

Shapes

Cubes, amorphous blobs, vague concepts. Go nuts!

Making OCs is about having fun and experimenting. Maybe you'll make a character that doesn't work out but can find a better place in your own story! Now go make that art!
