So I did a little digging, and yeah it's hosted on a site called Spatial.io, which apart from some barebones optional integration with Blockchain, is pretty much a Roblox clone? The Visit Wales section doesn't seem to be using any Blockchain integrations, which is a minor boon. You can see the player counts these get and the quality of the other content on the site though, this is purely for PR hype over being a longterm product.
I still think it's pretty embarrassing though, there's a Welsh TV Show called Tourist Trap about a Welsh Tourism Board called Wow Wales. It's kind of riffing on the first series of Parks and Rec with its mocumentary style, but without much of the character development. One of the jokes that comes up regularly is using VR to entice people to Wales, and I had to bring that up. Life initiating parody.
Also not a big deal in the grand scheme but I kind of hate this photoshoot.
Holy shit Wales what are you doing? It’s 2024, the metaverse is dead.
Someone on Wikipedia is nominating articles on different kinds of cake for deletion and I'm kind of pissed about it. Maybe they're even right by Wikipedia's standards but it seems disrespectful
A lot of the time when I see people talk about aromanticism they bring up the way a lot of us tend to think that romance is just exaggerated in fiction and are surprised that people feel that way in real life and not just in the movies and that's honestly kind of funny, imagine just going about your life and one day finding out that most people's high school years were actually like disney channel and you're the exception
