Last month, I bound Finding Color: A Triad Tale by willowfairy (a cute little Dreomione fic) for the Spring Fling Swap hosted by Paige (paigetopage) and Talia (taliabooksandbinds) on instagram!

I think typesetting was my favorite part of this bind, I loved finding different splashes of color ranging from grey at the beginning to more vibrant at the end.

This was my first bind where I didn’t do a bradel bind, I just glued my book board directly onto my bookcloth (not sure if this has a technical name). It was so nerve racking making sure everything was straight and square but it made for SUCH a flexible book at the end. I’m a convert 🤌🏼 I also got to try handmade headbands for this bind which I ABSOLUTELY loved. I think it made the whole bind look so polished and professional with the matching headbands and bookcloth, and it was way easier than I expected! I’m not quite ready to tackle hand sewn end bands yet but I’m v happy with how these turned out.

The vinyl was somehow less challenging than expected! I had the idea for the cover design pretty early on and thought it was way above my skill level but I managed to execute it without any major issues which was shocking and also dangerous for my ego 😂 (not pictured: me running around my house knocking over my husbands shit while yelling “I’m just….BETTER”)

Overall, I’m so happy with how this bind came out and it was a huge confidence boost to be able to participate in my first exchange and have a decent finished object to show for it 🥰 I also got to connect with so many new people through the process, I can’t wait to do more exchanges in the future!
