sportsfest 2018

hi!! sorry i never post here ever/haven’t finished a proper fic in FOREVER but i’m participating in @sportsfestival this year! i’m back on my haikyuu (read: kurotsuki) bullshit, and right now the first bonus round is going on, so hopefully i’ll be posting some short ficlets in the coming days!!

btw, my dreamwidth is artenon, and i’ll be archiving my sportsfest fills in this post, if you also want to keep an eye on it there :^)

royed week / day 7: sci-fi au

Roy cups the back of Ed’s neck, hot like an open flame against Ed’s bare skin. Roy leans forward and presses his forehead against Ed’s. He’s sticky with sweat.

“Roy?” Ed asks softly, bringing his left hand up to touch Roy’s cheek. It’s hot and coated in sweat, just like the rest of him. “Roy, you with me?”

Roy moans. “Ed…”

“I got you,” Ed says. “Come on, Roy. Let’s get you back to your room.”

summary: 

Dr. Knox hesitates, then shrugs. “He says, and I quote, ‘My dick feels like it’s going to explode. Do something, cut it off if you have to.’ I figured we could save that for a last resort.”

royed week / day 4: gloves

Roy’s smile broke Ed’s heart and filled it up at the same time. They’d been together for a few years now but sometimes Roy still looked at Ed like he was the most precious thing and he couldn’t believe Ed was really his, like every time Ed did or said something to affirm it he felt relieved, as if he’d been waiting for the catch.

Ed didn’t know how to tell him there was no catch, that he was all or nothing and he’d already decided that his heart, in its entirety, was Roy’s alone.

summary: Ed thought of his automail joints locking up when it got too cold, the extra maintenance. Of the cold steel cutting through the cloth of his regular gloves, the shiver Roy would try but fail to suppress when Ed’s hand would accidentally brush against his skin.

summary: Ed's life was already hard enough balancing being Fullmetal, the mysterious vigilante who can manipulate metal, and the work-partner-slash-favorite-tool of Winry Rockbell, mechanic. Then Roy Mustang, the (objectively handsome) man Ed saved one night, brings his ruined car to Rockbell Mechanics, and Ed's life gets a whole lot more complicated.

a/n: I couldn’t finish this so I had to make it a chaptered fic, OH NO. Roy and Ed are both walking embarrassments in this fic, and the entire thing is largely self-indulgent silliness, but I hope some of you enjoy it anyway!

Once again there is accompanying fanart by @foldedstars! The comic does not occur in the fic, but it does exist in the same universe, and it’s HILARIOUS so please go look at it!!

Ed exhales raggedly, then reaches into his shirt and tugs his necklace off. When he opens his palm, Roy can see what’s attached to the black string. It’s a golden ring.

“Doesn’t really stay on my automail. Take it,” he says. “To remember me by, or whatever. Maybe even give it to me someday, although then you’d have to explain why it’s all old and scratched and not brand new.”

Roy takes the ring as Ed’s hand crumbles away into ash.

He’s the spitting image of Ed, if Ed was about a decade older. But Ed and Al are the only ones of them left, the only ones with the dark skin and distinctly golden hair and eyes marking their Xerxesian descent.

royed week / day 1: high fantasy

oneshot/complete, 2.7k, rated T

Summary: Sparring was a good way to release excess energy, to destress, for the brain to get away from theories and formulas for a while and lose itself in something much more base and primal. Roy was masks and layers, calculated words and even more carefully calculated moves, and Ed wanted to see him stripped bare.

A/N: Happy RoyEd week!! I haven’t finished or posted anything in a long time, but I recently rewatched FMA:B and rediscovered my love for royed. The prompts for this week really inspired me, and I’m excited to see what everyone else will post!
