Posting one of my favorite tweets bc it’s relevant again
#literally what happened in xo kitty#season two managed to destory all of the sapphic f/f parings completely#and left the m/m and w/m pairings alone#and some of the fandom can't even fathom kitty/yuri together for the sole fact that they are two woman#despite the fact that they have the perfect enemies to lovers arc#and out of all the ships they parallel Lara Jean and Peter the most in season one#it doesn't matter#“it came out of nowhere” “it just doesn't make sense”#bullshit#and look at that two more heads just grew on the hydra#xo kitty#kittyuri#xo kitty spoilers

it’s genuinely wild how often weak hero gets reduced to "bromance,” like the story is just about a particularly intense friendship and not something far more complicated, far more intimate. this isn't just shippers projecting. this isn't just wishful thinking. you don’t need the director and cast members repeatedly claiming that suho and sieun are each other's first love to interpret that on your own. the narrative already tells you—quietly, devastatingly, and with absolute clarity.
the queer subtext isn’t subtle. it’s not hidden in glances or throwaway lines. it’s built into the structure of their relationship, in every decision they make. suho knew beomseok had tampered with his bike. that wasn’t just bullying; it was a premeditated act of violence. he knew what kind of danger he was walking into when he went to the ring, and he went anyway. alone. outnumbered. no illusions. he knew he could die. but he went. because they hurt sieun. because sieun got hurt for him.
that’s their language. not confession, but action. not sentiment, but sacrifice. die for each other. kill for each other.
and sieun, who had always been defined by his discipline, his detachment, his spotless academic record? he lets himself spiral. he got expelled. stopped eating. stopped sleeping. stopped going to cram school. when he found out suho was in critical condition, he froze in the middle of the street and didn’t move, even with a car speeding toward him. as if life without suho wasn’t a life worth returning to.
he came back from a coma asking for suho, looking for him. suho was already in one because of him. they revolve around each other like twin stars caught in gravity’s pull—self-destructive, unstoppable, and impossibly close. love doesn’t always look like romance, but that doesn’t make it less real. or less queer.
so no, it’s not just a bromance. and if that’s all you see—if you can watch all of that and not feel the weight of what’s being said without words? then i'm sorry, but you’ve missed the entire point.
#this part#if sieun was a woman no one would question it#some people will just see two people of the same sex clealy having feelings and romatic tension between them and dismiss it#BECAUSE they are two men or two woman etc etc#weak hero#weak hero class 1#weak hero class 2#suhosieun#suho x sieun#ahn suho#yeon sieun

Can we just acknowledge that Lottie is the only person we ever see Nat accept comfort from? Throughout the series, in both timelines, Nat suffers alone and in silence. Travis reaches out to touch her after both Javi and Coach Ben’s deaths, but she walks past him in both instances. When she finds Travis’ body, Misty attempts to comfort her but Nat pushes her away. Whenever Nat breaks down, she turns inward, shutting others out instead of seeking connection. Nowhere is this more evident than in the final moments of 3x09, when she begins to sob and everyone around her vanishes, leaving her utterly alone. It’s a visual metaphor for the profound isolation that defines how Nat experiences pain.

Given the nature of Nat’s home environment, I don’t think she ever learned how to accept tenderness and physical intimacy beyond sex. It’s foreign to her. And, on a deeper level, I think she doesn’t believe she deserves this kind of intimacy and unconditional care.
But, in this moment with Lottie, she finally allows herself to be held. For what might be the first time in her life, she feels safe enough to surrender, to lean into someone else’s care without flinching. She even feels safe enough to regress to a younger version of herself, a form of healing her inner child as she lays her head on Lottie’s lap. We see Nat engage in simple hello or goodbye hugs (or moments of sexual intimacy) with other characters, but Lottie is truly the only character Nat physically embraces in this unguarded, emotionally vulnerable way.

Weak hero is a whole god damn bl show in my head. Like- it's obviously a love triangle between sieun - suho - beomseok in season 1, beomseok like suho, but suho and sieun like each other. In season 2, seongje having a crush on baekjin, but baekjin still not over his childhood crush on baku. Baku like sieun, but sieun never got over his mutual crush on suho. And then there are gotak and juntae, a couple that basically always being lovey dovey and unbothered by any other people. WEAK HERO DRAMA VERSION IS AN ABSOLUTE MESSY BL STORY. Istg they just need to kiss each other and then voila all of their problem is done.

I feel like I'm goin' nuts every time I see a post that says "oh they were all supposed to be insane cannibals but now only Shauna is like that and everyone else is just scared of her." No, they literally just condemned Coach Scott to death, tortured him because of a gas-huffing prophecy, ate him, and danced around his severed head like 3 episodes ago. Only Natalie objected to this on any meaningful level, and she was ostracized and punished for it.
The reason they're freaked out about Mari is because she's one of them, instead of an outsider. Literally, in the finale, they make a distinction between killing "enemies" and spilling their own blood- this is the line that some of the girls aren't willing to cross. That doesn't make them not villainous, or violent, or cannibalistic! It's actually not "better" to display some guy's head on a spike just because he's Not One Of Us. Shauna is terrifying because she's unwilling to make that distinction- she literally interrupts Van and Tai's plot to give Hannah the queen! Which they rationalized because she wasn't one of "them." And, in the adult timeline, Taissa decides that Shauna is the problem because Van dies, when approximately 1 day ago she was considering hunting down random people to murder on Van's behalf. It's easy to rationalize violence when it's not happening to people you care about, which is the brutal philosophical bedrock of civilization. The one taboo that most of the Yellowjackets are unwilling to break is killing the people you love, and Shauna has had her ability to love stripped away to nothing.

since weak hero class 2 is gonna come out very soon (finally!), i had to do some navel gazing with regards to season one and even after multiple watches of the show, i’ll always find the relationship between beomseok and sieun the most tragic fucking bond ever because amidst the massive fallout and very much foreground animosity that rose between beomseok and suho, sieun was the figure providing the most grace to beomseok, till the very end. sieun was the one who was sensitive and empathetic towards beomseok when his bullies targetted him again, when beomseok was undergoing a change of character, when beomseok revealed his home situation. as much as i love suho, the show made it a point to show his callousness towards beomseok’s bullying situation—in part because suho has never been at the bottom of the barrel due his strength and general personality; he does not understand because he has never been the weakest in the chain, but sieun knows, he understands. he’s aware of how bullies work, how they target any perceived weakness, how sometimes the one being bullied can’t do anything short of sacrificing their entire dignity and value system to make it stop (which isn’t always a guarantee anyway). how the one being bullied did not do anything “wrong” to provoke a reaction from the bullies, aside from existing.
the tragedy of season one is just how avoidable the final conflict was, if beomseok just tried to accept the concerned voice that was trying to help him, if he allowed himself to accept sieun’s care to soothe his insecurities over suho. it’s not that suho didn’t reach out—it’s that beomseok and suho were not speaking the same language. what beomseok did is inexcusable and i hope we never see him again and he gains no forgiveness or redemption but it fucking sucks that beomseok blamed suho for not understanding him but then ignored the one who was going the extra mile to meet him halfway, to offer help and empathy. till the last moment, sieun couldn’t bring himself to be violent towards beomseok (which was honestly the biggest metaphorical slap in the face the guy could receive) because how could he ever outdo and avenge the kind of rotten, sickening violence beomseok chose to employ towards his own friend? (and also because hitting him then would mean scores were being settled but what suho suffered through was in suspension and it did not deserve to have a definite resolution and also, beomseok’s too used to being hit for any mistakes/faults/flaws of his, when it is both deserved and underserved and sieun was, once again, being graceful in a painfully ironic manner by leaving beomseok unscathed but with a lesson that should rightfully scar his soul. he held back).
#AGREED WITH THIS SO HARD#suho did not know how it was to be the weakest!! his callousness towards the whole situation was Actively Making Things Worss for beomseok#sieun was genuinely trying to help beomseok and kept offering it#it just sucks that like with suho — they weren’t speaking in the same language#like beomseok was so hard to communicate with and sieun had a hard time completely communicating#but he still TRIED. he still TRIED to offer support and he wanted to help beomseok and it was clear he cared for him#a lot of people think he straight up hates beomseok and i think it’s true#but its also clear that in the end he still cared for beomseok in some way#(even if little)#THATS WHY HIM NOT PUNCHING BEOMSEOK WAS SO HEARTBREAKING FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!#here’s my prayer to see sieun smiling again in season two with his new gang of besties 🕯️#<- praying for him .. hoping for beomseok to get out of that situation at least.. praying for suho that his life isn’t entirely ruined#weak hero class 1#weak hero class 2#<- these two put all my thougts into words
