We’ve all heard of the post broken project era of ford where he’s pissed at Stan for breaking his project and acts like an asshole (aka him suppressing his feelings of missing Stan), but what about an au where ford is less of a asshole? Where after Stan gets kicked out he goes to library to kinda get his mind off his brother and his opportunity that was taken away by reading as many books as possible?

What if he read a book about statistics, specifically about homelessness. Even more specific, about homeless teens who don’t graduate high school.

Like just imagine him conjuring up all the possibilities, all different scenarios about what could happen to his brother. Grooming, addiction, the inability to get well paying jobs because of the lack of high school diploma which could often lead to getting exploited; the suicide rates. (Does Stanley even have his ID? His birth certificate or his ssn? If he died, would they even ever know?)

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.

Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.

It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?

Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.

A Blind faith au but instead of Ford going insane and taking Stan's eyes, Ford still starts going insane and losing parts of himself to the entity in the darkness. Stan is holding Ford trying to find a way to help when a voice is heard through the darkness and offers them a way out but at the expense of something important to them. Of course Stan's first instinct is to refuse the offer, but he's slowly losing his brother to this thing and they still have no way out, so he agrees without much thought. After agreeing, everything disappears and when they wake again they find out the terms of Stans agreement.

Stan has no mouth and Ford no eyes.

Sometimes I really just want to strangle my past self because I stopped drawing for a few months and now my drawings look like shit (also probably due to the fact that I am sleep deprived, speed running studying for a quiz, and on coffee… but that’s slightly irrelevant)

Anywho Fiddlestan fanart coming soon as well as the next chapter of my until dawn x gravity falls fanfic (and some fanart) and updating another one of my fics. Idk which one yet but hopefully this happens sometime this week lol.

A silly little au where Stan is in chronic pain all the time (hips are constantly locking up and popping, he gets migraines, has horrible knees that cause him pain when walking, back pain, his stomach hurts, chest feels weird anytime he breathes a little too deeply, shoulders pop anytime he reaches up, his gums are constantly aching — no I’m not projecting whatareyouacop? But overall his whole body constantly hurts and it’s to a point where yeah he’s in pain but he just says it is what is and tries his best to ignore it ) and after getting branded he kinda passes out because of his pain levels were already at 7.5/10 before they started fighting, now it was at least at a 12/10.

Ford freaks the fuck out and cue big brother ford taking care of Stanley and finding that his brother is quite fucked up while simultaneously trying to keep a demon at bay. It only works so much but eventually the failure twins set out for unicorn hair and this is where Stan find some weird plant and touches it and BAM all of a sudden all the pain and aches he felt are gone.

He just stares into the distance cause wtf just happened. Why do his hips feel good, why is he able to stand up straight without his knees or back complaining??? WHY DOES GE ACTUALLY FEEL FUNCTIONAL?!

And fords freaking out cause Stanley just stopped responding and is just standing in the middle of the forest with the biggest grin on his face.
