. To have a huge beak, bad taste in colors, and just being gaudy and still show your face in public! Toucans have to be confident.

The next piece that I am starting is complicated. I thought I would share the prosses with everyone so people can get an idea of how a piece is produced. It is always good to know what you are doing before you do it, so the first step is to create thumbnails. What this does is to help me clarify my ideas.

Have you had that teeny tiny voice in your head tell you to leave or run away? Listen to it. Just saying.

This piece is from a photograph that I took while I was waiting for a bus. Most of my art is hand drawn. With this piece, I took the photo and used an app called Mirror Lab to create this design. Normally when I create a design, I have an idea on what I wanted the piece to look like. I love the process of creating. Figuring out which medium to use, placement of the object and how I want the subject to be presented. Using tech is different. With this app I scroll through different effects, play around with it and if there's one I like I save it. In other words, it is the program that tells me how the design should look. I look at technology as a tool. There are things that I really like about it. It is clean and good for editing. I am starting to learn it, but I don't think I would use it all the time. I love the creative process and the challenges that come with it. Art is always changing and growing, but that doesn’t mean that the older techniques should be thrown out. technology is another tool that can be added to the mix.

I'm Back!!!
Tumblr media
People take things for granted. In March 2023,I literally broke my contact lens. For six weeks I couldn’t see well enough to draw and create new work. This is not good, if you are a seller for print on demand. It also made it hard to do other things, such cleaning, getting around and reading. Eventually I did get a new lens and I could go back to creating work, but  an experiences like this made me appreciate what I have. It gave me a different outlook on how good I really have it and not to take things for granted. Sometimes I think that everyone should go without something that they use day-to-day without giving it another thought. Not only will they appreciate what they have, but they would appreciate others that don’t have it so lucky.
