Thought I'd finally share some work I did for Oddballs at Atomic Cartoons. This is Maz Scare-ah, she was one of the first designs I did for the show and is probably still my favorite (I always wanted to design a goth unicorn ;) The top set is my early prelim concepts and amazingly the first design I did ended up being the one that was chosen. Final design poses, expressions and turnaround below. (Color Design by Carly Bartlett)
This was my first time supervising character design on a show and I really enjoyed the process and learned so much. I worked with a wonderful team of Canadian designers and it was always so much fun reviewing the wacky and creative designs they submitted. The entire production was done remotely with the crew based both in LA and Vancouver. Although we never saw each other in person during production everyone on the team was very supportive and I'm thankful to Art Director Maria Vitan and Executive Producer Carl Faruolo for inviting me onboard and trusting me with the role.

A couple of oxen.  I usually only did the rough designs but I did the final cleanup on these guys as well.

Various incidental characters I did for Animaniacs.  Some of these are preliminary designs that didn’t make it in the final episodes.

These are special poses I did for Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling back in 2017.  Most of them are based on pre-existing character designs but it was a lot of fun getting to play in Joe Murray’s world.

This is Opera Cat from Season 1 Episode 1 of Animaniacs.  I based the design on my old orange tabby cat who ended up passing away during the making of this show after nearly 15 years of being my sidekick and muse.  I still miss him but I’m happy he gets to live on in cartoon form, he also made an appearance in Flapjack.
Animaniacs was the last show I worked on inside a studio before the pandemic sent us all home which weirdly feels like ages ago now.  I’m slowly trying to organize old work and will maybe share more designs later.  BTW thanks so much to everyone who still follows me here ♡
