Random poses for Faust and Dante
Faust just exudes confidence
Dante could be quoting Shakespeare for all anyone knows

okay yeah they're definitely both guys
within 24 hours they are both characters
because of course they are
Dante the Delphox is Calm, often lost in thought, and tends to be quite poetic; he also has a sarcastic side and will mess with people's heads when he's feeling particularly displeased.
Faust the Gardevoir is shiny, Sassy, and mischievous; he just likes to fuck with people because it's fun.  How the two of them are friends is anyone's guess, but they get along surprisingly well.

So if Delphox is loosely based on the oracles of Delphi
it's probably not a leap to assume that some of their divining involves some performance
if that's so then this one seems like a total ham
i also think it's a guy

So I can safely say that I have a lot of Pokemon I really, really like.  A lot of them I like because they look awesome (Noivern), and some of those I also love their core concepts (Absol).  There aren't many Pokemon I like primarily for their concept.
Exploud is one of those few.
Think about it.  Their Pokedex entries discuss how they can freely manipulate the tone and volume that comes from each of the ports on their body.  What if one of them was raised with classical music training?  A Whismur raised on the symphonies of Bach and Beethoven, or even on religious organ pieces?  Practicing in its tiny whispered voice until it evolves into a Loudred, where it continues to train with its new amplifiers?  And then, evolving into an Exploud, it could be used in concerts, symphonies, religious services (depending on training) as a living instrument.
The potential for such musicality is really appealing to me, and I've always been so intrigued by the line.

Machamp
NOT ALL POKEMON ARE CREATED EQUAL
in this case
Tumblr media
this Machamp couldn’t care less about the whole bodybuilder thing — all he really wants to do is serve people nice homemade meals
and four arms make that a lot easier
(bonus under the cut)
REALLY I CUT THIS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE SO PLEASE DON'T HATE ME
but I just
really wanted to draw a Machamp doing the Tandava

Magmortar
oh man magmortar
Tumblr media
FUNNY STORY HERE
at one point I pretty much hated them
thought they were awful and a plague on the Magmar line which hadn’t even been one of my favorites before anyway
AND THEN H-DAY CAME AROUND
Now part of what triggered H-Day was Diane receiving one of these demon eggs which wound up hatching
into a Magmortar
and then going off to wreak havoc in Archer’s office
now as I planned things out I realized that losing all their Pokemon meant that Archer wouldn’t have his then-egg with him
so it was probably in his office
where the Magmortar was
and Magmortar as it turns out has the Flame Body ability
which is one of those abilities that speeds up hatching
which led me to believe that the Magmortar was in Archer’s office trying to take care of his egg
at that point the Magmortar became a she and was affectionately dubbed Mamamortar
Tumblr media
trying to hatch his egg
I've actually been considering trying to requisition that Magmortar from the bank for Diane's research efforts but I'm not sure if that would be allowed or not :c I really did have a hard time deciding between Axeface and Mamamortar at the time, though, and primarily picked Axeface because it would be far more difficult for Diane to get him back, as a random Haxorus from the Bank, than it would be for her to find a Magmortar that would probably be tagged as A THREAT TO EVERYONE TAKE AT YOUR OWN RISK for nearly destroying the base
SO YES
I actually kind of like Magmortar now :c ~ <3

HAXORUS
AXEFAAAAAAAAAAACE
Tumblr media
honestly whenever I think of ‘cute Haxorus’ I think of Axeface
I love Axeface
I mean HOW CAN I NOT LOVE HIM LOOK AT THIS GUY
Tumblr media
he’s just so happy to see you and be around you and he wants to say hello don’t let the axe blades on his face fool you he’s a sweetheart
Actually funny story with Axeface
Waaaaaaay back when there was this awesome event
technically it was called the Rocket Pokemon event
but given that fully evolved Pokemon hatched out of demon eggs and it started with the terrors hatching
we affectionately dubbed it ‘H-Day’
Axeface is a product of H-Day
in that everyone involved lost their usual Pokemon and was randomly assigned one Pokemon from the Rocket Bank
Somehow
Somehow Diane got matched with a Haxorus
And I knew from the start that the only way for her to handle a dragon AT ALL was if he was not intimidating
in any way shape or form
AND THUS AXEFACE THE BIRDRAGON CAME TO BE
and I mean birdragon in the sense that he totally acts like a bird
he chirps a lot
and if Diane sits still long enough
Tumblr media
he preens her hair
