Background for the new May collection on Subeta.net! Our theme for this collection was glass and my brain immediately jumped to stained glass and floofy flowers. Took some trial and error, and I may or may not have totally scrapped it and started over from the beginning again, but I’m pleased with the end result (even if it’s a bit messy at full size, haha).

BONUS! Because I thought stained glass was so fun, I included a coloring page for anyone who might be interested in making their own version. Enjoy! :)

I know I don’t post often, but I wanted to share my tribute to @qinniart - her work has been such an inspiration to me. I’ve always particularly loved her short animation “night light” and the life and humor she managed to imbue into such small things. Wishing her peace and comfort as she explores new galaxies.

Background round up time! Got to admit, they are my favorite thing to draw. A few tributes mixed in here, some fun with style changes too - always a challenge to try and suggest a different medium in a digital format, especially while trying to keep them semi-blendable with more typical Subeta style art, but it always makes for a neat experience.

Very VERY long in the making, but I made a pet! Introducing the Scootle - a cute lil nudibranch/snail explorer who is now making it’s way across Subeta! Super excited (and more than a little terrified) to be starting off with a fresh new pet and getting started on the special colors. :D

This is my most recent backdrop, done for Subeta.net as part of our monthly collection for March. Such a mess at full size! (That’s the bonus to shrinking things down at the end - it hides so many sins, haha.) 

I did a tiny little bit of some city buildings in a previous backdrop, but this is the first time I’ve actually tried to do a full on city and I’m pretty pleased with the results! It’s always nice when a finished piece leaves me with a “yay!” feeling instead of a “oh gosh, what have I done” one.

I’ve always thought it was kind of fun to see where things started vs where they end up and the changes that happen along the way, so I’m including my initial color sketch as well. The colors and the basic building chunks stayed relatively consistent, but there were certainly a number of changes made along the way as well.
