I just finished a short book on "how to write scary", since that seems useful as a skill, and man........the author cautioned not to over-use fear signifiers because that can make a character come off as a wuss, and as an example he wrote a paragraph from the point of view of the most pathetic man possible......and when I tell you I was sweating and shaking reading that. there is something so wrong with me.

TikTok has convinced so many people that you're autistic or ADHD if you have completely typical experiences like "getting songs stuck in your head" or "having a strong sense of social justice" or "reverently kissing the ice-cold crown of the crow lord". No, you do not need to have autism to squeeze your eyes shut and stand completely still as a living statue to demonstrate your total submission to the crow lord. Plenty of neurotypical people bring him tributes of glass beads, tinfoil strips, roadkill, coins from dead men's pockets, and mice or rabbits fattened weeks in advance. Honestly TikTok has become such a dangerous engine for spreading misinformation. I wouldn't be surprised if they provoke the wrath of the crow lord soon.

I hope that one of the takeaway messages for developers in the wake of the TikTok ban is that your company needs a functioning website more than it needs an app. I deeply resent that Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, etc. lock users out of many features on mobile browsers in an attempt to get them to download apps (which are better at collecting data and controlling user behavior). "The website looks better in the app! Download the app!!" I will not be doing that. Fix your shitty website.

Rumble vs Ranger R6: Pop Cap vs Blue

POP CAP A syndicate assassin who traded her voice for evil mime powers. Pop Cap is a tricky and mischievous criminal who enjoys toying with her opponents. Though somewhat agile, she's not a particularly talented martial artist, relying instead on her mime powers and also this gun she found. In-game she features high burst damage and strong pressure, with her main weakness being her abysmal stamina. She has the lowest HP total of the entire Rumble After Dark cast.

ACTIRANGER BLUE The steady and reliable Big Guy in the ActiRanger team. Blue is a kind, patient and gentle-natured Hockey-playing goliath. His ActiRanger abilities enhance his physical prowess even further and additionally grant him limited Ice Powers. His primary role is that of a Goalie, with appropriately strong defensive abilities, though his Glacier Check is a fast and powerful charge attack that can utterly demolish a cornered opponent.

And the winner is: BLUE!

On the Run

I started this piece back in early 2023 and only just finished it today. I realized that I was Never going to like how the background looked, so I just had fun with it. It was a major source of art block for a while, but I love how the boys turned out.
