“Ditto. I just hope this is alright for our skin.”

“Okay, I’m doing blue, first.”

“Oh, you won’t be,” she grinned. “Seriously, though, this is probably as foreign to me as it is to you, I just know how the medium works. It’s one of the most bizarre date ideas I’ve ever heard."

“Mmm now I get t’see the artist at work. Gonna warn y'right now, I’m no good at paintin’, but I am good with my body, so hopefully I won’t be a total waste of paint.”

“Oooh, okay, I think…” Opal scanned the girls behind her. She then glanced at Jake, and turned back towards Ryan. “Cheri.”

Jake shrugged. “It’s whatever. Every girl here is at least an eight, yeah? Just ‘cos one of the hottest is gone, doesn’t mean there aren’t others.”

“That’s the spirit. Like Cheri. Cheri’s really good. Like, better than second choice good.”

“You hoped Clarke would be your match, huh.”

“What?”

“Nothin’. Just think you’re fulla shit, ‘s all.”

“Sure.” As she leaned over to reach, she kept her eyes on Jake, frowning. She grabbed the bottle and handed it over to him.

“This about prissy pants and meat man?”

“There’s more to the story,” Tilly admitted quietly as they locked in, retreating her hand and smiling tightly at Opal. “But I guess that’s that for now.” 

“I guess,” she shrugged, and headed towards their chairs.

“I smile a lot, laugh really obnoxiously, paint things bright colors, throw glitter everywhere.”
