the point of criticizing “not like the other girls” was to address the way some girls/women would put down others because of their belief that their interests were superior or less mainstream or whatever
if you’re using this phrase to belittle neurodivergent women or lesbians or bi women for acknowledging that they were different from their peers and often treated unkindly for it….what’s the point. what are you accomplishing

every year without fail big game companies release multi million dollar games where every hair and skin follicle on a character is rendered and somebody makes a simple game about a goose or smthn that does 100x better than every other game that year and i love to see it every time

idk who needs to hear this but when your english teacher asks you to explain why an author chose to use a specific metaphor or literary device, it’s not because you won’t be able to function in real-world society without the essential knowledge of gatsby’s green light or whatever, it’s because that process develops your abilities to parse a text for meaning and fill in gaps in information by yourself, and if you’re wondering what happens when you DON’T develop an adult level of reading comprehension, look no further than the dizzying array of examples right here on tumblr dot com

Zuko’s banishment was so public. Over a hundred, maybe hundreds, of people saw him prostrated on the floor, begging his father for forgiveness and only getting a grievous injury in response. There had to be at least a few people, other than Iroh, in that audience who found it abhorrent. I wonder if there was always a bit of an underground support for Zuko, for the prince who tried to save the lives of young, innocent soldiers and got maimed by his own father for it. If so, I want that story. I want to know about the secretive network that was working to dethrone Ozai and instate Zuko before Aang and the others invaded during Black Sun, because they were no longer willing to serve under a leader that went as far as Ozai.

A woman’s body shape really affects how people perceive of she’s dressed “appropriately” or not. Like in the summer I see tones of rail thin women in short shorts and crop tops and nobody bats an eye but let a woman has a little thigh, hip, booty or tiddie meat and suddenly she’s “provocative”. We can’t help the way we’re shaped or that most women’s summer clothes are usually cropped. I’m not trying to get anyone’s dick hard, I’m just trying to walk to the mall and it happens to be boiling outside, let me live.
