Guys, please help me.
This is my brother and a little bit of his story.
Trevor Cole, born on March 25, 1995 with a failing liver. Doctors gave him until he was 9 mos. old to find a new liver or I’d lose my brother. As God would have it, a liver became available and he was able to live a very full, wonderful childhood and life–expect the fact he was immuno suppressant and requires everday medication. As he entered early adulthood, he began getting sick more and more. He’s been through liver failure scares, among other very serious illnesses (pneumonia, kidney stones, stomach blockages…). As he has no immune system, it’s hard for him to fight when he gets sick and it’s been getting harder and harder as the years pass. Recently, he had a biopsy done for some kind of blockage in the main vein to his liver and, as a result, he’s caught an infection and he’s been fighting it for 3 days with not much improvement.
I live in Atlanta, 6 hours away from my family. Our parents both work to support the family but as luck would have it, our father has to have surgery on the 9th, leaving my mom to be the only one to work and take care of the both of them for at least 2 weeks (which if you’ve ever had to pay rent, you know it’s not easy to take the time off required for something like this and turn a 2 person income into a 1 person income.) I’m holding this fundraiser in hopes to be able to come up with enough money to go down to Florida for 2 weeks to help my family, while also keeping my own head above water (I’m already a month behind in rent and trying to not get evicted). Our family may not be perfect but I can’t just sit here and do nothing. I can’t watch my brother slowly die 6 hours away.

"Everything will get better" statement haunts me sometimes. It gives me thoughts and shambles ideas. Each one of us struggles at something at one point in our lives but it got me to think if it is really getting better. We use this phrase to give ourselves comfort and certainty that the pain we feel right now will always be worth it in the end. But is it really? Or we just used cliche quotation to escape the reality and the agony we feel in the present? Does it really get better or we just use this drunk idea to think that what we feel right now will lead into something greater in the future? I really don’t know if everything really gets better or if we just use this as an escape.
