it had been one of those days . the breeze was not cold enough , the fire wasn't hot enough , the food wasn't satisfying enough , nothing felt enough . and although it was no one's fault , margaery's frustration could be felt by anyone near her . unfortunately for sandor , he was the closest to her , from dusk until dawn , always beside her , even on days like this .

the sun was close to setting , which meant their usual stroll along the outside of the castle walls . margaery enjoyed the sand between her toes , as well as watching the tension leave sandor's shoulders the further away from others they were . so far , it was the only thing that helped her release a portion of her irritation to the wind . the huffing and puffing didn't cease , though . she was sure she would get an eye roll if she dared look up at him , her gaze remaining on the sand as they walked . a gaze that immediately widened in confusion as she processed the rush that overcame her .

margaery was enveloped in his shadow in an instant . the cold , wet rock caught onto her dress , some of it grazing against her skin . a slight tightness around her arms caused by his grip was the only thing bringing her back to the moment . crystal eyes flustered until they met his , her chest dropping at the sight of her safest place . ❛ sandor ... ❜ a raspy whisper , as she was more focused at was what coming from him . it felt and sounded ... primal . he was often aggressive , a brute even , but this––– this was different . familiar , but different . so familiar , that she knew if she didn't act , and soon , he'd let go and this chance would never come a second time . margaery used the tension of their arms as support , her weight shifting onto the very tip of all her toes . even then , she didn't reach his face , but she was just high enough to nudge at his chin with her nose , hoping , pleading , he would understand her , as he always did .
