something about foreshadowing being more prominent the second time around reading a story but in a way that the meaning is changed forever and you can never view a story the same as you once did before. do you know what i mean.

I know there's a lot of people who like the time shenanigans in regards to time+wars+wind thanks to hyrule warriors
Like wars+time are post hw meanwhile wind is pre hw in linked universe, etc
But I personally like it when wind is also post hw in linked universe cause the fucked up older brother+younger brother relationship with time is so funny
Like tfw u reunite with ur baby bro but it's only been a couple of months for u while it's been 20 years for him and now YOU'RE the baby brother shenanigans
I personally like it even more if time treats wind as his older brother still like
Random dude: hey where are u going
Time, who's like 30+ and 6'0"+: I can't answer that but u can ask my older brother
Wind, who's 13 and like 5'0" being held by the armpits by time to be at the dude's eye level: yes hello older brother here what do u want

hi yes i'd like another two seasons of watching these idiots attempt at being a family
transcript:
Ness: Why are you stopping? Go, keep going! Isla: I can't run barefoot anymore. I think I just stepped on a loose needle. Ness: Oh god. Isla: I'm gonna miss it. [exhales] They needed me, and I'm gonna miss it. Sandy: Take mine. Isla: What are you doing? Sandy: Take mine. Isla: They're your dress shoes. They'll never fit. Sandy: Just do it. Isla: Oh my god. Oh my god, they fit! Jackie: Bro, why are your feet so small? Sandy: I have delicate features! Ness: I don't want you stepping on a needle too, get on my back. Sandy: Your legs are- Oh my god. Ness: (overlapping) Get on my back! Isla: Let's go! Ness: Okay. That's the Achilles! That's the Achilles!

ahah hi yeah!! the two most recent wind waker posts grabbed me by the throat and then could NOT stop thinking about it. its making me want to actually finish the game tbh
full disclaimer i havent played wind waker all the way through but. hyrule is said to be submerged underwater, right. thinking thoughts on that being a literal devouring and the corpses from the kingdom being so vast and numerous that it ends up poisoning the ocean
neither have i but you are COOKING here. yes. yes. even if its not physically possible something about the spiritual side of the flood and the metaphysical poisoning as a result of the death and destruction of hyrule's people & land. the sea was not a thing of absolution or healing. it was about destruction it was always about destruction it was about the sacrifice of many for a potential future good it was about last resorts
i don't know whether i believe the great sea is literally poison, i'm more inclined to think it's poison on a spiritual or magical level, but either way it's definitely barren and infertile and. and it's mourning. it's about mourning something you never knew. i'm clawing at the bars of my cage. ganon escaped the sacred realm and laid waste to hyrule and the hero's spirit had departed the timeline. there was no hope for a reincarnation there would be no salvation there would be no saviour. and so the great sea swallowed the world, swallowed hyrule, and ohh gooddddddddd i love the personification in the way you worded this. a devouring. the great sea devoured hyrule. how could it ever bring life when life is what it was designed to consume?
#i do occasionally poke my head in bc i enjoy the vibes of ur blog <3#and one of these days i'll finally get around to reading primordials lol

#made an entire blog just to send that ask lmao#and yes handshaking you over the it not being literal poison - i recall reading about how shipwrecks are more or less preserved#bc of the very very high pressures as you get deeper down into the ocean. imagine being wind and swimming down to the ruins of hyrule#and finding preserved bodies. remnants of the people who lived there and had absolutely no chance against the flood. do u think they waited#did they hope until the very end for their hero to show up and is that what helps keeps the ocean alive; hungry and grasping for life#if you think about it the sea is just one big gaping mouth. never satisfied bc it was made that way by design#anyway im just rambling at this point i just think theres something delightfully fucked up about ww as a concept#and the ocean being a graveyard in nearly all the ways that matter#loz
