Floral Ideas [Amir & Ash]

Ash had always loved his little flower farm ever since the day he bought the land from its previous owner. He loves taking care of the flowers and sometimes he even talks to the brightly colored plants. Today is no different as he walks around the field, checking up on the flowers dancing in the wind.

“Good morning, rosies,” he says, checking the stems and petals of the bright red roses that bloomed just that morning. “Are you guys doing well? No worms or little caterpillars?” Ash gives one of the roses a little pat on the head and moves to the field of sunflowers.

Some of them are taller than him and he squints up to look at the tall plants, grinning at his excellent gardening skills. “Aren’t you handsome?” he remarks, his hand shadowing his face to cover his eyes. “What a beauty!”

He notices someone walking in the distance and peeks out from behind the tall sunflowers. “Hello there!” Ash calls out, waving his arm. “Do you need anything?”

Watching the brown butter sauce on the stove come to a roaring boil, Chase abandoned his wild whipping of the dish of cream in order to lower the heat and begin to spoon the liquid into a small oil canister to be used on his experiments the rest of the night.

As, you see, the grand opening wasn’t tonight.

When printing the elegant and ornate cards, it would seem that the printing company Chase hired had failed to quality check each letter, having put the wrong date on one single card. The card given to Ash.

Hearing the meek voice from the front of the restaurant, Chase stormed out of the kitchen, feeling just slightly overwhelmed. This opening was going to be quite stressful until his staff arrived, but he wished they were here now to take care of all these damn deliveries.

Chase was disheveled, a small swipe of flour on his cheek and a few small stains on his apron, but besides that he was his regular self. Lavender dress shirt rolled up to his elbows, tight dress pants, his hair pinned back in a half dozen barrettes. Chase had always had his own sense of style, and over the years he had simply had a minor glow up from pretty boy teenager to a handsome man. What remained was his bad attitude.

“If you’re delivering the damn sea urchin just put it in the fridge behind the bar and I’ll deal with it later!” Chase roared, stopping once his eyes hit Ash. His expression spoke volumes. His eyes saying clearly, ‘I know you’.

“Ash?”

Ash had been idly looking around while waiting for someone to show up, soft noises emerging from the kitchen when a person enters the main dining area. He tries not to have his mouth drop, a small flashback playing through his mind when he sets his eyes on the person who entered.

“Chase...?” Oh Goddess, oh Goddess save me now.

Ash smiles slightly and waves to his... Friend? He shifts his weight from one leg to another and coughs a little awkwardly. Though there was no bad blood between them, their history was... A little bit of a mess.

He hadn’t been confused with the date, right? Ash double checks the letter and looks back at Chase, wondering why he looks so stressed. “I heard there was a grand opening for your restaurant?” he asks, holding up the invitation letter. “I mean... If you’re busy I can go leave?”

Ash points to the door and takes a step, awkwardly grinning. Bad move for going here, idiot, he thinks, looking back and forth at Chase and the door.

Ash had been mildly surprised at the letter he received a few days prior. It contained a simple piece of paper that smelled of flower-based perfume and stated that he is invited to the grand opening of a new restaurant a few blocks down from the inn. He supposed that everyone else had been invited to this opening, which is safe to assume considering the tone of the letter hadn’t been so personal.

Plus, the chef himself had invited Ash! That seems pretty cool, he thinks to himself while he dresses up quite nicely, in a light colored collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a pair of dark slacks. 

Ash heads over to the restaurant at the time stated on the letter and notices how beautifully designed the place is. He stares at it in awe, then realizes everything is quiet.

“Uhm... Hello?” he calls out. Where is everyone? he thinks, looking around.

Ash had always been a fan of balls and parties, especially ones he gets to dress up in. Though he doesn’t go to them often enough, he enjoys every single one he’s been to (except maybe for that time he accidentally spilled punch on his friend’s beautiful gown...)

For the Leudan Summer Ball, he decides to get a nice haircut. Something kind of “in” and wouldn’t look too bad without a hat on. After the haircut, he sent a picture to his friends and grinned at their instant replies ( @taciturnflowerprince​, @rxzberries​ & @kanaoftheisles​ ).

He goes with a plain black suit and a gold tie just to match his feelings for the ball: Golden. Ash twiddles with his fingers in front of the mirror, nervous to know what Kamil would think of his outfit for the night.

Maybe, just maybe, they could even sneak a dance in..?

Between Ash and Kamil, Ash is by far the more of a bad influence. He can drink exponentially more than Kamil can and has probably done more vices that he can count on one hand… But that doesn’t stop Ash from convincing Kamil to drink with him. He and his best friend go over to Kamil’s place and have a couple of drinks.

And when it happens, Ash believes it happens for a reason. So while Kamil gets tipsy as he could be without getting drunk and meanwhile Ash gets drunk from his stronger choice of drink, a few things happen.

One is that Ash and Kamil start getting closer and closer to each other physically. Their bodies pretty much pressed against each other as they lean on the wall behind them.

Another is that they both start teasing each other over mindless things like how much they drink that night and what color of clothes they’re wearing.

Finally, there’s a long pause of silence. Ash stares at Kamil’s face, and he grins stupidly for a brief second. The next thing they both know, Ash’s lips are pressed against his best friend’s. A second later and they part with both boys blushing and Ash’s mind racing.

“Goodnight, Kam,” he says softly, curling up to his side of the bed. No more speaking of this and no more thoughts of Kamil… for the night, at least.

Ash wasn’t always this clumsy, but he had not much of a choice as he had fallen into the hay stack bin in the back of the animal shop. Not only was he stuck but Georgia had attempted getting him out and couldn’t see him inside so she ended up falling straight into the hay stack as well. 

“Hey… Gigi?” he asks, wiggling his arm free from behind him. “This is really dumb.” Ash lets out a hearty laugh and almost ends up inhaling a piece of hay in the process.

He barely sees Georgia’s face through the layer of hay between them but he’s pretty sure their tangled limbs in the bin wasn’t exactly a good sign. Oh well, maybe someone will get us out soon or we’d have to chop my arm off to get out, he thinks to himself, cursing his rare clumsiness.

Ash does his day-to-day routine as usual. Going to work and manning the cashier are just some of the things he does in a normal work day. He sees nothing different from this day as compared to the rest and Ash basically just flips through animal-related magazines during his work shift.

He recalls seeing his room mate earlier this same day working on a list of monsters to tame around Arcadia and he wonders to himself if Kyle would be passing by the shop today to check it out. He hopes so and nods along to the background music of the shop as he flips through more of the magazines.

Ash returns the magazines to the little cubby in the side and walks to the shelf when he notices a misplaced item in another one of the shelves. He takes it and puts it back in its original place when he feels a tap on his shoulder. 

Ash turns around to see Kyle standing there, smiling. “Hey, Kyle!” he says with a grin on his face. “Nice to see you here! Is there anything you need?”

▬▬ι═══════ﺤ Kyle hasn’t had the chance to be properly acquainted with his roommates but he does know their face and name. Lately he spends his time getting to know the island itself. Exploring, mindlessly wandering… finding a job. So far, he’s got the basics done and all that’s left is do actual research and live a little.

What got him curious are the wolves he read about residing in Leuda. If he explores the mines, he might run across a silver wolf. Now, in order to tame them, he’ll need some glove to actually do so. Maybe some food? His priority right now is getting that sweet, sweet glove. Then after he’ll wonder about the food.

He heads straight for Barley’s Animal Shop, ready to inquire about this monster glove he’s been reading about. When he approaches the first employee he sees, he is delightfully surprised to see someone he actually knows.

Kyle taps the hat-wearing employee on the shoulder and greets him with a friendly grin, “ Ash, hey~ Didn’t know you work here. ” -═══════ι▬▬

Ash frowns at his now extremely wet hat, his favorite hat in fact. He takes it off and sets it on the coffee table in front of him, ruffling his hair a bit to dry it out at least by a little. He didn’t mind the rain too much for as long as he wasn’t soaking wet but in this case, he wasn’t in the best mood with his favorite hat getting soaked through and through.

Ash sits on the very edge of the couch, careful not to lean back as the water from his clothes would just spread everywhere and make a mess. He was just about to start removing his shoes and socks when a crash of thunder sets the room to darkness, and a warm figure appears at his chest.

He feels the heat coming from the body of the person in front of him before he even sees who it is. When the lights come back on, Ash freezes completely. Eyes locked down to the eyes of the person in front of him, he just stares for what feels like an eternity.

“Kam…?” he says softly when he sees Kam’s eyes flicker. There was no reaction for a split second, but then Kamil jumps back and Ash looks back at his damn best friend with wide eyes.

Ash brings a hand up to his head and shakes the back of his hair, trying to hide the blush growing on his cheeks. He forces a smile and stands up to check on his friend. “Shush, it’s okay,” he says, putting it off as a joke. “Did you at least not piss yourself this time around, Kammy boy?”

He wishes those few moments lasted longer, when Kam was pressed against his body in the darkness. But alas, nothing lasts forever and they have to return to the reality where Ash and Kam might never speak a word of this again.

random.org chose bear hug and then chose romantic hug because Georgia rigged the system, so mun went ahead and chose SOMETHING SCARED ME hug

Kamil was usually too busy to see both of his friends–and while he would not admit it, tended to err on the side of spending his time with Ash–so when their schedules happened to align just right and the three could hang out together, Kamil was pretty thrilled, honestly. 

This of course meant, mother nature would have to ruin it all. Murphey’s law, maybe? Or, perhaps, it was more they had all been too dumb to check the forecast before heading out… either way, the trio got caught out in the heavy rain and as the sky rolled with thunder somehow they all head into Kamil’s–that is to say Raguna’s–place to hide from the storm. Perhaps because Kamil was worried the sudden guests would be a bother to Kamil, he’d retreated to his room with them: a bright, cheery place full of flowers and simple, cute decor in contrast to the dark sky and muddy ground outside

Then, when Kamil had just started to settle in, there was a loud CRACK as the power cut off abruptly and lightning crashed outside and as everything went dark, Kamil panicked, squealing softly in fear as he jumped a mile… and somehow, found himself pressed against Ash.

He didn’t know what had come over him, but here he was: head ducked, fingers gripping tightly to the front of his shirt, and as the lights hummed back to life, he didn’t move. Not immediately. Not as fast as he should have, for someone he was totally just strictly friends with.

As his head lifted and his heart hammered in his chest, his eyes flickered over Ash’s features–hesitating on his lips before locking onto his eyes. That’s when it all seemed to click to him.

He had practically thrown himself into Ash’s arms. His best friend… oh gods, oh gods… and Georgia was there too. She’d seen. This was horrible. He’d mucked it all up. Suddenly, he jerked his hands back, stepping back and shooting an anxious glance towards Georgia.

What was he even supposed to say.

“A-Ash… I’m so, so sorry!” He held up his hands, awkwardly and apologetically, eyes shooting towards Georgia–STOP GRINNING LIKE THAT, GIGI–”I panicked and… I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to–I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable, I mean I–”

At this point, still talking, he was pretty much just sputtering nonsense. Georgia, say something! Anything! Save me!
