Alastair hunt

They describe him as BBC Sherlock, but 12-year-old me up and ignored that completely. I do not have the skill to draw what I imagined, but it was some mix of Sirius Black and Giles Grimm.

In a Magisteirum/Pokemon AU, his first pokemon would be a Rookidee.

ok laying the groundwork here, a Pokémon is a really difficult-to-care for creature, so I'd say that most have 2-3, and many don't fully evolve them.

Alastair

Rookidee: This one has been with him since Iron Year. It evolved into a Corvisquire around Silver Year, and evolved into Corviknight just after the war.

Sarah

Pikipek: This is also Sarah's starter. It evolved at a similar timeline to Alastair's Rookidee. Toucannon died on La Riconada.

Honedge: Caught by Sarah in her Silver Year. It absorbed Semiramis while Sarah wasn't looking. She still calls it Semiramis. Survived La Riconada????? despite being lv12?????

Constantine

Houndour: This is his chaos wolf. And his starter. Evolves into Houndoom after he runs away. Died on La Riconada

Shuppet: He found a flock of Shuppet around the time Jericho died. One took a liking to him, and he caught it. Traded it to Joseph to make the lie a little more believable. Shuppet being at the battle is what clues Alastair into what's going on.

Murkrow: See Below

Jericho

Murkrow: Starter. Constantine takes care of it once Jericho dies. It evolves before the battle. Honchcrow dies on La Riconada.

Declan

Shinx: Starter. Follows Rookidee and Pikipek. Luxray dies at La Riconada.

Callum

Honedge: Miri! Callum is talked a lot about, being the only student to already have a starter pokémon before starting school. Alastair flung it out of its pokéball and asked it to Ariel Ace his face, and the rest is history. Maybe evolves into Doublade....? I am undecided.

Poochyena: Havoc! Catches him in secrect. Evolves into Mightyena at the end of Silver Mask.

Alex

Shuppet: Guess who's back? That's right, it's our long time buddy, Constantine's Guilt. Shuppet hung around Alex a lot, and Joseph took that to mean that Alex was the Chosen One. Evolves into Bannette soon after Joseph trades it to Alex.

Drew

Galarian Ponyta: She deserves one.

Joseph

Ditto: His starter. There's no way in hell Joseph was able impersonate Constantine without some Duplica-ass magic. I was debating between Ditto and Smeargle, but decided on Ditto.

Zoruak: It was Maugris' until she died. Joseph took it and Maugris (now in Constantine's body) couldn't really complain. Lowkey terrorised Joseph as a kid.

Shuppet: See Above. Shuppet does not like Joseph.

on the subject of octavian

honestly. when i was younger i was confused as hell when everyone hated octavian. i mean i also didn’t particularly like him since the narrative liked to shove it down your throat that octavian was the bad guy but like. younger me was like “what are you guys saying?? hes literally RIGHT!!” because look at it this way:

a giant UFO comes down from space. on it is some popular human celebrity who has been missing for a while. people have theorized that aliens are real, but never actually set out to truly find one. then they come, bring the popular human celebrity back and claim they’re peaceful. and you’re telling me that we WOULDNT be distrustful? also, just because we have one alien in our possession doesn’t mean that all of them are good. this one could just be more open minded! also, with the current state of the world, every country would most likely try and nuke the aliens.

it’s also super annoying how the narrative likes to act like octavian is SOO crazy for not trusting people who 1. he has no prior knowledge on, unlike the reader 2. FAMOUSLY COULD NOT BE TRUSTED. but remember guys (everything forward from this is bad sarcasm that i learned how to use recently)!!!! octavian is CRAZY!!! he has VISIONS that aren’t actually true because haha RACHEL is the oracle not stupid ugly scrawny white blond kid!! how could you forget?? schizophrenia is something to be laughed at, not treated or helped with!! because that’s what rick riordan seems to think about it.
