Hey! I absolutely love your writing and was wondering if you could something with Damen constantly talking about Laurent where he works and Laurent sounding too good to be true so none of his coworkers believe him (or the roles reversed)?

The thing is, Damen isn’t crazy. 

At least, Nikandros thinks he isn’t; they’ve been best friends for over twenty years, and he knows Damen is usually a very realistic person, if naive and optimistic. Apart from that, Damen has no trouble getting people into bed. He’s never wanted a serious relationship, and he’s always enjoyed sleeping around, and it’s never really been a secret. 

Which is why Nik doesn’t understand why he’s making Laurent up.

From other people, people who can’t get a date, he gets it, but from Damen?

And what’s even worse, Damen is refusing to even tell him that Laurent is made up! Nikandros has always been in on his lies before, however few of them, so this is an entirely unprecedented situation, and he doesn’t know how to deal with it.

“So,” he asks, carefully. “How’s Laurent?” 

Damen smiles blindingly up at him. “Good. He just got a promotion at work.”

“Right,” Nik says dubiously. He clears his throat. “And, uh. Where is he?”

He’d come over to Damen’s in an attempt to finally get this to stop; after Damen had told him they’d moved in together, he knew this had gone too far.

“He went back to Vere for a couple days,” Damen says sadly, eyes flicking back to the TV where they’re watching a football game. “To visit his brother.”

“Oh,” Nik says. “Right.”

He wonders if it’s time to talk to a psychiatrist.

“You don’t bite your pens,” Nik says with a frown, when he takes one from Damen’s coffee table to sign one of their work documents. 

“What?” Damen asks, looking over. “Oh. No. Laurent bites things when he’s nervous.”

Nik squints at him. “Right.”

“What the fuck, Damen?” Kastor asks, when Damen takes off his shirt; Nik and Damen go to the gym together regularly, and, sometimes, Kastor joins. Nik turns around to look at what he’s looking, and catches sight of telling scratch-marks down his friend’s back. “Who did this?”

Damen grins sheepishly. “Oh. Laurent. He has sharp nails.”

Nik is beginning to think Laurent is not made up, but a very hostile cat. 

"Right,” he says.

“He’s making Laurent up, right?” Lazar asks, squinting; they’re all huddled outside of Damen’s office, watching as he talks to ‘Laurent’ on the phone, grinning so widely his dimple’s showing. “There’s no way this guy is real.”

He just can’t be; from what Damen’s told them, Laurent just keeps sounding less and less like a real person; apart from the fact that he seems to be taken straight out of Damen’s every fantasy and dream, he just cannot be real; he’s too much of a contradiction, too many unanswered questions, a person like that simply does not exist.

“We all think so,” Pallas agrees. “But why would he do that? He’s never done that before.”

“He’s stopped sleeping around.” Nik says, because that’s the weirdest part of this. “I think this might be a serious problem.”

“Someone has to ask him,” Pallas says.

“We can’t just tell him,” Aktis says. “Let’s invite him and Laurent over. When he doesn’t show, we can try to talk to him about it.”

Nikandros nods.

Laurent, evidently, doesn’t show; Damen tells them he had a migraine, and then begins babbling about how kind and great and gorgeous his boyfriend is, so no one really has the heart to tell him he’s making it up. 

So they don’t.

They just go along with it, and continue inviting him and Laurent to things, to which Laurent never shows.

Until he does.

“I’m sorry I’m late.” The blonde doesn’t have a single drop on him, despite it being pouring outside. “I couldn’t get out of work.”

“They need you there,” Damen smiles widely up at him, and gladly accepts a kiss on the lips; Nik’s, Pallas’s, Lazar’s, and Aktis’s mouths are hanging open. “Guys, this is Laurent, Laurent, these are - why are you all staring like that?”

Nik can’t bring himself to close his mouth.

“You’re Laurent?” he asks, strangled. 

“Yes?” Laurent raises a perfectly manicured eyebrow, and Nikandros doesn’t know how, but he already fits Damen’s contrite description so well he cannot possibly be a hired actor.

“You exist?” Lazar asks.

Damen frowns at them. “Why wouldn’t he?”

“We - we thought you were making him up!” Pallas exclaims. “You - it was all too suspicious!”

“Suspicious?” Laurent asks.

“Yes!” Nik says defensively. “You never showed up to anything, you’re literally taken out of Damen’s dreams, and you’re - you don’t seem real.”

Laurent’s other eyebrow raises. “I’ll take that as a compliment.” Before Nik can say otherwise, Laurent continues calmly. “I never showed up to anything because I’m Vere’s ambassador in Ios and my work is crazy, I assure you I’m not literally taken out of Damen’s dreams, and I am real.”

“Also, there are pictures of him all over my desk.” Damen points out coolly.

“What?” they all ask.

“You have some very poor observational skills for a private security company,” Laurent remarks mildly, and Nik can only stare blankly.

Andreil slowly growing affectionate around the foxes, part 5

It's been a whileeee

Andrew keeps a picture of Neil in his wallet and Matt notices it when they're out at Eden's and Andrew's paying. He smiles quietly to himself and tells Dan when they're alone.

Andrew gets a bad cold and Neil just goes full mother hen on him like. Checking his temperature. Bringing him good. Forehead kisses. Tucking him in. Reading to him. Kevin is a silent witness in their dorm and wonders how Andrew puts up with it.

Andrew buys Neil a chain so he can have the key to the house on his neck

Nicky and Aaron walk in on Andrew kissing a line up Neil's arm, so focussed he doesn't notice they have an audience for a few seconds. After he does, he just shrugs and says "Neil's arm hurts", almost managing to sound bored

Neil leaving notes for Andrew on the fridge every morning before he goes for a run!!

Andreil just always showering together. Always. They say They're saving water but the sounds coming from the bathroom indicate that they're not. Kevin is happy because at least they're not doing it in the room

Andrew reading his textbooks out loud to Neil so he can use that eidetic memory of his and ace all his tests like usual

Neil always returning clothes he's borrowed from Andrew with little chocolates in the pockets, so when Andrew puts on a jumper before going out with the team more often than not chocolate will just fall out, and Andrew will roll his eyes.

Andrew hugging Neil from the back, every time he comes into a room and Neil's already there.

Andrew getting the team to help him deliver presents and letters to Neil after he's left Palmetto

Neil joking about Andrew being his emergency contact but when he gets injured and Andrew gets a call from the hospital they realise he was being serious

Awesome! Of course, take your time, its exciting to know you're writing from time to time but I find it far more important that you put yourself first. Oh, may I ask if it'd be okay to private message you? I'm unsure if you'd prefer asks. 😅 I also didnt want to just send you a message without asking first.

I'm the same in terms of books and fan-fiction being my preference, I'm introverted as well as a homebody, it feels safer that way. May I ask if you'll be adapting all the arcs from FOD into your fanfic? I'm just looking forward to anything you might have planned in the future, I think you mentioned that the next arc will be one of your au-inspired worlds?

I actually have about 4 chapters of the 3rd arc. I haven't touched it in a while tho, I've been having very mad mental health days... I am actually planning on finishing it and I pick up my laptop from time to time, but I always end up playing majong. Still, once my doc changes up my meds, I will return to my favorite stories. :)

That's horrible, I hope things take a turn for the better for you. I, of course, mean that in the most sincerest way possible, messaging makes me worried that it comes off condescendingly or in insincerely. Take care of yourself first and foremost, I'd prefer you put yourself first rather than updating and feeling miserable. Wishing you the best!

It doesn't come off as anything but sincere. I've been a writer and part of multiple fandoms since I was 13, so I know how supportive everyone is, especially with issues regarding mental health... It feels like almost all of us are a little bit broken, and I'm not sure about anyone else, but I hide from my life in books and fanfiction.

Damn, I seriously love all of the supportive people, it really, honestly helps.

I'm unsure if you're still taking suggestions for To Wear The Devil's Face Au's but what about Yuri On Ice inspired Figure Skater's au? Or Entertainment Circle Au? Meaning movie Stars/Actors au. Also will you be doing the Rich Second Generation arc? That's arc four. I have to admit it's one of my favorites, lol. Also, Peach Eyes - Peach Blossom Eyes - refers to the shape of the eyes, since the shape is supposedly similar to natural bedroom eyes, I noticed someone ask you about them! Thanks!

On that note, I've been having a rough time writing lately. I inherited a genetic tremor in my hands from my grandmother, and it has not been easy for me. I've also been locked in the psych ward for the last few months after an unsuccessful suicide attempt.....

I'll keep writing, I'm testing out speech to text apps, and therapy to work on lessening the tremor..... It's been a fucked up year for me....

Top 10 Tips for Actually Writing

for the writer who can’t seem to write.

Buy a pencil and paper. Get a writing program and a keyboard.

Spill all your ideas into a notebook that will never see the light of day. Write down literally every idea you have that even sort of relates to the scene/chapter/book that you want to write until your thoughts converge on a pointed attack.

Quality vs. Quantity? No competition. Quantity all the way. The more you write, the better you will know your story. Worry about Quality LATER.

Think about where the idea came from. Go there. Set up a cardboard box and live there. This is your home now.

What is the coolest, most self-indulgent thing you can think of? That’s what you want to write at this point, until you get some steam.

Short-term goals, my friends. And by short-term, I mean a minute from now, ten seconds from now. What are you going to do to write RIGHT NOW? Stop thinking about an hour from now, stop thinking about a day from now.

This is not a book. This is not a book. You are not writing a book. You are writing a story. A story is much easier to take bites out of than a book. A book is a big, scary, colossal thing. Stories are fun and carefree.

Get yourself a writing friend. A cactus, an old bottle of nail polish, a fish in an appropriately sized tank, etc. Make them hold you accountable.

Set crazy low goals. Promise yourself you will write ten words today. Ten words and you will be the Best Writer in the Entire World to Ever Exist. Accomplishing things is a morale booster and will urge you to write more.

Just keep writing. I believe in you.

Will anyone ever walk in on andrew and neil making out? Does the retired navy seal/ bodyguard have a family? I kinda forgot who is Manny amd who is mason. I think manny is the one neil came to in the beginning to get his papers. And who is tatania why does andrew "like" her? Is she a spy? 👀 How old is she? Oh and will Az be happy my heart aches everytime he interacts with Neil and Andrew because they just dismiss him and kinda treat him like garbage. Could we get a snippet in his pov please?

Yes. Believe it or not, Aaron is the one to catch them.

I will be doing a chapter in Az's point of view. He is actually a very dynamic character.

Tatiana is a Russian refugee. She has a 6 year old daughter who has selective mutism due to sexual abuse by Tatiana's ex husband. When Tatiana found out, she killed him and ran to America with her daughter. This is the reason Andrew is fond of her. She also understands and is sympathetic to ppl who chose silence.

The bodyguard, Elliot is actually the one who got Tatiana into the US :)

What else...um.... Manny! We actually get a lot of Manny's history from the story.
