pursed lips. raised eyebrows. the tevinter wasn't at fault, but she had to tell him anyway. his back was turned to her searching through the shelf on the wall.
❝ the elf wants me to stop you from throwing more books over the railing. ❞

she finds hawke in the tavern. she should have known. with a grin on her face she sits down across from her after she'd ordered something to drink with a wave of her hand.
❝ i'm surprised varric's not anywhere close to you. i had guessed he'd not leave your damn side once you got here. ❞

She watched the Inquisitor coming down the stairs of the keep and started moving. A last glance to one of the few men they had back on the feet and here before she was close enough to raise her voice.
❝ Inquisitor, I wanted to ask you something if you got a moment. ❞

❝ A ram? ❞ He grins, can barely hold back the chuckle that's in his throat.
❝ A ram. ❞ That is all she replies, lips pursed slightly, what he of course doesn't miss, as she knows.
❝ Uh-huh. ❞ Now he grins even more.
Manuka closes her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. ❝ Any objections against our mission target, Qunari? ❞ She had started to call him like that after their little chat about the Qun and his explanation about his thoughts on Tal-Vashoth. But only when she was pissed -- or starting to, like now.
❝ No, ma'am. I was just wondering, is all. ❞
He still got that damn smug gron on his face.
❝ Wondering what? ❞ She knows he wants her to ask. She knows he's pissing her off on purpose, but she doesn't give a damn -- maybe she even likes it. He's got balls and it's fun.
❝ Why you accept it. Looking for a special ram isn't exactly an Inquisition job -- if you ask me. ❞
❝ Can you piss gold, Qunari? ❞
He chuckles. ❝ Not that I know of, ma'am ❞
❝ Didn't think so. What means we have to take every damned task offered to us at this point. Or our men die of either hunger, cold or injuries due to crap armor. My pride isn't worth that prize. ❞
He just nods with a grim smile. Manuka guesses he has hoped for an answer like that. He knows how important the money is this stupid farmer will give them -- even more so the trust it will gain them. They both known that. but maybe not their companions. So talking about it isn't the least reasonable thing the two have discussed today.

concerning interactions with other inquisitors:
Manuka will automatically be the mercenary she was before the Conclave, unless otherwise plotted. Some business have taken her far enough from the explosion to survive and since she saw help was needed and already felt the wight of the coins in her pocket she stuck around.

a fair warning: her horns are kinda a soft spot, so accept the explanation you get (which is probably some bullshit) and be glad she didn't punch yu.
