This is probably the fourth year that they’ve given the award to a blonde wizard.” 

“My opinion?” Aurora craned her neck to see the wizard in question, “You’ve seen one mediocre white boy, you’ve seen them all. Sorry.” She shrugged, “Besides, Most Charming Smile? What has that got to do with anything?”

“It’s not mine----” Aurora’s tone was exasperated as she snatched the offending parchment from his hands, “It’s hers.” The first year in question stood about elbow height, face red with embarrassment, “Ugh, don’t mind him---we’ll go over it, yeah? Just go get your books.” As the girl scurried away, Aurora snorted, “Don’t ever become a professor, Lestrange.”

✧*:･ﾟ✧ merlin! is that MAISIE RICHARDSON SELLERS? no, it’s just AURORA SINISTRA the SEVENTH YEAR & SLYTHERIN ( MUGGLEBORN ). we’ve heard rumors that SHE ( CIS FEMALE ) is COMPASSIONATE, ADAPTIVE & WITTY but can also be very SNARKY, DISTRUSTFUL & LONELY. if i had to pick one song to describe HER it would be PRETTY LITTLE BIRDS BY SZA. Aurora Maryse Sinistra was born on May 22, 1959 to her mother, Maura Sinistra, and a father who didn’t stick around long enough to know he had a daughter. The late 50s were not an easy time to be a single mother, and with a single, part-time income and no family to help support them, the Sinistras did not have much. When she was young, Aurora found it hard not to covet what other children her age had, and as she grew older, she had a tougher and tougher time not resenting the choices her mother made---and swore to herself that no matter what it took, she wouldn’t settle for nothing as her mother had.

Growing up, Aurora had incidences of accidental magic like most wixen children did---though these outbursts scared her mother, she was never frightened by what she could do. In an unfair world where she was mocked for the color of her skin and for what she lacked, being able to do something extraordinary---even if she couldn’t quite predict when things would happen or how to make them happen---gave her something to cling to; it made her special.

When she was eleven, a witch by the name of Minerva McGonagall arrived to tell her that it wasn’t all in her head; she was special, she was a witch. She begged her mother to let her go off to Hogwarts; for a normally self-sufficient child, such an outburst was rare, and combined with McGonagalls promises that schooling would help Aurora master and control her magic, she was allowed to go.

Before arriving at Hogwarts, Aurora did her research, never one to go into a situation blind. She read about the classes, the castle, the grounds, and the houses---and knew immediately that Slytherin was the house for her. Ambition and cunning---those sounded like the makings of greatness, of someone who would never be left wanting---and that was what Aurora wanted, for herself and her family. For better or worse, though, some things about Hogwarts didn’t make it to print, and Aurora became an anomaly in a house that tended to pride itself on it’s lineage. Had she known, Aurora might have made another choice, but now, despite whatever might have been thrown at her these past seven years, she is sure Slytherin is where she truly belongs---even if others might not agree.

Aurora is sharp, sly, and observant, useful traits to have for the current climate. She has a seemingly thick skin, as well, and over the years has shown she’s not afraid to stand her ground and assert her right to be at Hogwarts. For the most part, she has a solid and strong moral center----she wants to excel, wants to better herself, but can’t and won’t do so at the expense of other people who are suffering. She sees, though, so much of what is wrong with the wizarding world---and has no qualms about exploiting an archaic system for her own benefit. So far as she’s concerned, it’s time for the magical world to be brought into the present---maybe not dragged, kicking and screaming, but pulled along with a blindfold over its eyes til its led where she wants it to go.

hi friends ig i will introduce myself here in the new ooc tag!!! anyway i’m arielle and i’m 27 (gma i know) from pst and i’ll be playing the ambitious, somewhat self-righteous, gemini snake (ohhh boy) aurora sinistra! i’ve been a bit slow-moving and overwhelmed w/ stuff this weekend and balancing it all so i’m gonna work on her intro and then reply/message people so y’all have something to go off of when we plot! but i’m super excited to be here bc normally i avoid marauders rps but jinx and yall have made this so amazing so!!! yay!
