Unforeseen Circumstances
Hi Guys!
After much deliberation and discussion between us mods, we bring you some bad news.
As of this Friday (4/28), Ask a Robin will no longer be an active blog.
We will leave everything the way it is so everyone can go back and enjoy their favorite imagines, but we will not be producing any new content or answering any asks.
Now you may be asking why are we leaving?
Well, it has to do with a lot of things ranging from hectic schedules, joining the adult world, finishing school, and losing inspiration for writing.
We felt it was best to pull the plug on the blog rather than having our followers suffer through our almost not existent content creation.
If you want to check us out at our personal writing blogs, you are totally welcome! We have loved talking and interacting with each and every one of you and don’t want it to stop! We have all of our information on where we are at and what we are doing with prompts below for anyone that wants to stop by.
We want to thank everyone for understanding our decision, and hope that we can see you round the interwebs!
~The Mods
Mod Drama Queen:
I have been and still am active on my own writing blog @nightwingdiva. As I’ve been having a really hard time with all of my writing over the past five months anyway, I will not be carrying over prompts from here. (Though there are a couple of them I might keep in mind when I’m looking for new ideas)
Mod Jaybird:
After I get settled after Graduation, you guys can find my writing blog at @writing-doesnt-discriminate To help me refresh my writing mojo, and get back into the groove, I will not be taking any prompts from this blog with me.
Mod Nerd Bird:
Between student teaching and edTPA, I’ve had little time for writing this semester. Despite this, I plan on continuing my writing following graduation. Once I have settled into adult life, I plan on finishing the prompts I still have for this page on my personal writing blog @i-write-what-i-want. I’m aware that the other three plan on not doing the prompts they still have on this page. There are some that they were asked to do that I wouldn’t mind writing myself. With that being said, please be patient as I am entering the adult world and adjusting to this new chapter in my life.
Mod Demon Spawn:
Out of all of us, I’ve been the one to struggle the most when it comes to writing and finding inspiration. I had every intention of tackling my prompts as soon as I could, but thanks to my course load and jobs, I lost all motive to write. I do not have a writing blog and I don’t intend to create one. I like to write, it’s a fun way to relax. But I don’t like having the pressure of putting content up consistently, which was something I should have foreseen when we created this blog. As such, I will not be taking any of my prompts with me.

I was wondering when you guys were going to start posting your imagines or short stories again because j haven't seen one really since the audio chat
Okay. So. We probably won’t really be posting much until May at the soonest. Nerd Bird is student teaching, Jaybird and Demon Spawn are trying to survive their final classes, and all three of them graduate in 35 days. And I’m... Well, let’s just say my classes are killing me slowly.
On top of being stupid busy with real life, I know that I personally have been having a lot of problems with feeling inspired and motivated to write. Yes, I have a request list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I’ve connected with them. Writing is an escape. A chance to do something that doesn’t involve fifty billion Greek letters and math without numbers. I don’t want writing for any of this to feel like a chore. It’s not fair to me, and it’s not fair to you.
This leads into my personal writing blog (Because I do like writing for more than Dick). Because, yes, I have a request list there, too. But the same thing has happened to it. I’ve been trying to rediscover my love and enjoyment for writing, which means I’ve been neglecting my request lists and writing what ideas inspire me. And I have been reblogging most of those over here so that we have some sort of new content.
I do sincerely apologize for neglecting this blog. It hasn’t been intentional. It’s just kind of happened.

Sooo...I did a thing. Check out my personal writing blog lovelies!
~Mod Nerd Bird
Welcome!!
Hello lovelies and welcome to my writing blog!
This page is where I plan to post most of my writing for the various fandoms I’m in. This is also to keep them off my main page which is a massive black hole of fandoms.
I’m still setting this page up and getting everything JUST right. I’m fairly new to the whole writing blog thing, so please bear with me! Everything should be ready to go this Friday and I’ll open up for prompts! I will only accept five prompts at first as there are still several I need to do for another page I write for. Sorry for how low the number is!
To begin with, I will be writing for DC, Marvel, Naruto, Bleach, Attack on Titan, and Free! Iwatobi Swim Club. This list will more than likely grow as time goes on and as my life starts to slow down for a bit.
You can find some guidelines here for requesting prompts.
Until then, I bid you adieu!

Awh no problem!! And thanks hehe! :) I still consider myself quite new to the batfamily so I'm always a little nervous talking to other fans. :)
We've all been there! No need to be nervous round these parts, we're just a group of nerdy trash cans! We promise we don't bite....Most of the time. 😁 ~Mod Jaybird

So I don't know if any of you have heard it yet but the song Evermore from Beauty and The Beast sung by Josh Grodan really reminds me of Jason and I literally cried when I realized who it reminded me of.
Okay. So, I haven’t seen this movie yet cause school, BUT I listened to this song. AND BOY HOWDY. I love it. A Lot. It’s very reminiscent of a song from the BATB Broadway Musical called “If I Can’t Love Her,” but slightly happier in tempo. I can totally see how this is a Jaybird song....and I may add a fic to my ever growing list because inspiration has struck down from the heavens!
Thanks for bringing it to my attention Nonny! I can’t wait to see what other gems this movie has!

Have some fluff you guys!
- Mod Drama Queen
The Flying Graysons - Dick Grayson x Reader
I present to you a fluffy happy peace offering for my actions this weekend. I just realized that I actually have not yet written Dick as a father, which is a shame since he’s so great with children.
Tagging: @memento-scribet @speedypan @cait-writes-stuff @birbs-and-the-bat
Words: 1295
“Come on Little Bird! We don’t want to keep Mister Haly waiting!” Dick squeezes the tiny hand of your daughter and she all but runs to return to her place between the two of you, her black curls bouncing with every step.
The three of you walk through the mostly empty parking lot leading to the circus tent. Since Dick’s childhood show was back in town, you thought it would be a good opportunity to take your daughter to see where her dad grew up. When you mentioned the idea to Dick, his face lit up, and he immediately called his old ringmaster to see if they could come early before the show and show little Mary around.
“Daddy, will there be clowns at the circus?” Mary asks and looks at Dick with her big blue eyes and a furrowed brow.
“Yes, baby. There are clowns at the circus. Why do you ask?”
“Because clowns are scary,” she pouts at him, and you can see his heart melting at her stare.
“Mary, clowns are just people with funny clothes and makeup on who like to act silly,” you say.
“Then why does Uncle Wally talk about them being bad?”
“Because Uncle Wally is silly and doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” Dick says as he picks her up and places her on his shoulders. The sudden action causes her to squeal and laugh as she clutches to Dick’s hair to keep from falling off.
Her laughter stops when you walk into the tent, and you look up to see her little face is filled with awe.
The circus performers aren’t in costume yet, but they are practicing and warming up for tonight’s performance. You note that Mary’s eyes are particularly drawn to the animals on the far side of the ring.
“Look Daddy! Elfants!” She points excitedly and leans forward, causing Dick to lower his head a bit.
“Yes, Little Bird, I see the elephants.” He gently picks Mary back up and places her on the ground, much to her dismay.
“Well if it isn’t my boy Dick Grayson!” Comes a booming voice from the center of the ring. You look up to see a balding man with white hair making his way toward your family. “I’d know you anywhere! Though I will say you’re much bigger than the last time I saw you.”
“The same could be said about you, Mister Haly!” Dick waves at the man and starts leading you and Mary down the stairs onto the floor.
“Please, Dick! Just call me Jack already! No need to make an old man feel older than he already is,” Haly laughs. He pulls Dick into a tight hug and pats him on the back. “It’s good to see you boy.” He looks past Dick’s shoulder to you and Mary. “And who are these beautiful ladies you’ve brought with you?”
“Jack, this is my wife, Y/N,” Dick says and you step forward to shake Jack’s hand, though Mary clings to your leg, suddenly acting very shy.
“And that Little Bird right there is Mary,” Dick gestures to your daughter, who’s blue eyes and black hair are just about all Jack can see with her hiding behind you.
At the mention of Mary’s name Jack’s eyes grow misty and he looks at Dick. “You know, I didn’t think that Mary Grayson would ever be in this ring again. I still miss them, kiddo. But then I’m sure you do, too.”
“I do, but I’m sure they’d be happy with the life I’ve found,” Dick laces his fingers through yours, and you smile at him.
“I’m sure you’re right,” Jack says. He turns around and tries to lighten the mood. “So, Dick. How would you like to try out the trapeze? For old times’ sake?”
Dick smiles and starts walking to the ladder leading to the platform. “You know what, Jack? I think that sounds great!”
“Mommy, what’s Daddy doing?” Mary asks as she pulls on your hand.
“He’s going to do some tricks for us like he used to when he was a kid.” You say as you pick her up and hold her to your hip.
“That’s right Mary! Your daddy is one of the best fliers I’ve ever seen!” Jack says in an animated voice that instantly gains Mary’s trust and causes her to giggle.
“But he’s really high up. What if he falls?” She asks when Dick gets to the top.
“That’s what that net is for.” You point and make sure she sees that if Dick falls the net will catch him. One of the performers hands Dick a bar and he steps to the edge.
When he jumps Mary lets out a yelp of fear, but when Dick swings back up and does a flip on the bar, she gets excited.
“Look Mommy! Daddy’s flying!”
“It’s just like riding a bike.” Jack smiles. Dick does one more flip before releasing the bar and landing safely on the net. “A Grayson never forgets how to fly.”
“I’m a Grayson! I want to fly!” Mary starts wiggling out of your arms. Dick is back on the ground and is making his way back to you. Mary takes your hand and pulls you toward Dick. “Daddy! Daddy! I want to fly, too!”
“Are you sure, Mary? It can be scary at first.”
“Yes, Daddy! I want to fly like you!” Mary is practically bouncing up and down in excitement.
“She reminds me of you when you were her age!” Jack laughs at your side.
Dick must see the worry in your eyes because he gets down on Mary’s level to talk to her. “Okay, Little Bird. I can take you flying. But you have to ask Mommy if it’s okay with her.”
Mary spins back around and gives you her best puppy dog eyes. “Please, Mommy! Can I go fly with Daddy?!” While you have no problems with telling your daughter ‘no,’ the real fight is saying ‘no’ to Dick’s pleading eyes. You can tell that he wants to do it more than anything. To give her this tiny piece of his childhood.
“Okay, Mary.”
“YAY!!!” Mary screams in excitement, and Dick looks at you with a bit of concern.
“Are you sure, Y/N?”
“Yes, Dick. As much as it scares me, I trust you more than anyone else in the world. And she deserves to feel what you feel when you’re up there.” He smiles at you and kisses your cheek.
“Thank you,” Dick whispers in your ear before pulling back and taking Mary up the ladder with him, making sure that she doesn’t slip and fall.
You and Jack return to where you had been standing before to watch. When Dick and Mary get to the top, the other performers put a harness on Mary for safety, and Dick takes the trapeze bar. You can tell by Mary’s body language that she is second guessing her decision. Dick throws one leg over the bar and holds onto the swing with one hand while the other holds Mary close to his body, and he kicks off from the platform.
Mary screams when they first take off, but it quickly turns into laughter once Dick holds onto her with both hands and hangs the two of them upside down off the bar. He then swings back up and she laughs again and throws her arms around her father’s neck.
You can’t help but smile at both of your blue eyed black haired birds, flying above the world.
“You know, it would be nice to advertise for the Flying Graysons again.” Jack smiles and pokes you in the side. “That little one is a natural. She’s definitely a Grayson.”
“Yes.” You smile. “Yes she is.”

I told y'all I've gone rogue
- Mod Drama Queen
Gun Control - Jason Todd x Reader
Hello naughty children it’s angst time.
I’m a terrible person who should never be given free reign. And I’m actually a little sorry.
Tagging: @memento-scribet @cait-writes-stuff
Words: 1758
Moonlight streams through the boarded up windows of the abandoned warehouse you and Jason had been sent to investigate. It seemed that there was some suspicious energy emanating from the location, and even though nothing bad had come from it, the two of you had decided to check it out just in case. Besides. It’d been a slow week anyway.
Starting at the edge of the room, you investigate every inch of space for a source of the energy. There aren’t any false walls or trap doors. After cracking open a few crates, you decide there isn’t anything of concern. From the other side of the room you see that Jason has come to the same conclusion. You meet back up in the center to discuss your next course of action.
“I found nothing. How about you?” you put your hands on your hips and look up at Jason’s red helmet.
“I got nothing.” Jason puts his guns back in their holsters. “But something about this is bothering me. I just can’t place my finger on it.”
“Well, we can figure that out when we get back to the cave.” You rub your arms as if fighting off a chill, even though the air is warm. “Let’s go. This place is starting to give me the creeps.”
Jason nods in agreement. You both start walking toward the door. Just before you get to the door, Jason grabs your shoulder and pulls you back.
“Watch out!” He points to a trip line on the floor. You swear the wire wasn’t there when you checked the area earlier.
An echoing laughter bounces off the walls and meets your ears, sending a shiver up your spine.
“Klarion,” Jason mutters in your ear. It certainly explains the energy signatures reading from the area, but why is he here? You can feel Jason’s frustration as he scans the room for the Witch Boy. “What do you want, Klarion?”
“I just want to have a little fun. That’s all,” a bodiless voice speaks from what sounds like everywhere. A wisp of smoke draws your attention to a large stack of crates, and you focus on the form of Klarion and Teekl.
“Well we’re here to cut the fun times short.” Jason takes his guns out and prepares to fight.
“Awww, come on Red Hood. You used to be so fun, but now you’re just so boring.” Klarion floats above the crates and turns upside down as if he’s having a casual conversation with an old friend. “Never was able to predict how you’d react to a situation.”
“I’ve found my reason to fight.” Jason ever so slightly turns his head to you, and the knowledge that he’s referring to you stirs up the butterflies in your stomach.
“Hmmm,” Klarion spins right side up and narrows his eyes at you. “You want to fight? I’ll give you a reason to fight.” He cackles before he starts casting a spell. Jason raises his guns to shoot him before he can do anything, but Klarion is too fast. He sends a cloud of magic directly at you.
You try to move. Really you do. Every fiber of your body is screaming to get out of the way. But your limbs don’t listen. You watch helpless as the spell gets closer and closer.
But it never hits you.
At the last second Jason shoves you out of the way, absorbing the magic in your place. You stare with wide eyes as he hunches over and trembles, attempting to fight off whatever Klarion threw at you.
“Jay—Red Hood? Are you okay?” you place a hand on his arm and the tremors immediately stop. He stands straight without saying a word.
“Well isn’t this an interesting turn of events?” Klarion giggles.
You would have mouthed off at the Witch Boy were Jason not distracting you. His entire body language is mechanical, and he’s staring directly in front of him as he walks toward you. Ever so slowly, he raises his gun.
“Jason, no!” You yell and shove his hand to redirect his aim away from you. It might have worked better had his reflexes not been so quick. While you managed to knock the gun out of his hand, he took advantage of your momentary contact to grab your wrist.
“What is wrong with you?!” He doesn’t respond. You try to rip your hand away but his grip tightens.
“Say something!” You need to see his face. There’s no way you can fully figure out what’s wrong with him as long as this helmet is on his head. You rip the hood off knowing that he wears a mask underneath for emergency situations. And this definitely qualifies as an emergency situation.
But the sight under the hood makes your blood run cold.
He looks completely normal. Except for the fact that his face is completely blank. There’s no life. No charm. He normally has at least a ghost of a smile when he looks at you. But there’s nothing.
It’s like he’s turned into a mindless zombie.
You stumble backward in shock.
“What have you done to him?!” you ask Klarion, who is floating in the rafters and cackling.
“Oh, nothing much. I’ve just taken over his mind for a bit. That’s all.” By the tone in Klarion’s voice, it’s apparent that he is having the time of his life. “He’s going to kill you. The last thing you’re going to see before you die is the face of your partner. Your murderer.”
“You bastard!” You shoot at Klarion. You spend the next several minutes trying to think of how to stop Klarion and avoiding Jason’s blows. You don’t have any ranged weapons to hit Klarion with, and if you fight Jason you risk hurting him.
But you were never much of a long term fighter, and your energy is dropping with every blow you counter. Jason catches you in a slow moment and throws his elbow down on your shoulder, sending you to the floor with a yelp of pain. While down you manage to hit your emergency alert. You need backup, and you need it fast.
When you roll over to look at Jason’s painfully blank face, it’s down the barrel of a gun.
“Jay,” you whimper. You don’t even care that Klarion’s still here. The only way you have a chance of getting him back is by calling him by his name. “Jay, baby. Please. Please come back to me. I—I don’t care if you kill me, but do it as yourself.” Tears you didn’t know were there start welling up in your eyes.
“Remember me. Remember your family. Please let me see that beautiful smile one last time. Please, Jay. I love you.”
Jason doesn’t respond. He continues to stare blankly down at you. You expected him to have pulled the trigger by now. He should have if Klarion is controlling him.
That’s when you notice that the gun is trembling in Jason’s usually steady hand.
“NO NO NO!” Klarion whines. “KILL HER!”
Jason’s hand steadies.
You close your eyes to accept your fate.
When the gun goes of you don’t feel anything.
You open your eyes to see Jason’s face twisted in pain, his gun turned back on himself, and a bullet wound bleeding profusely. You hear yourself screaming in terror.
“Not exactly what I had in mind, but I think I’m content for a while. Ta ta!” Klarion giggles before dissolving into thin air.
Jason’s gun falls to the ground as he falls to his knees. You reach him in just enough time to break his fall. “JASON!” You go to caress his face when you realize that blood is coating your hand. His blood.
“Hey, babe,” he says weakly. “I bet you thought I was going to kill you for a second didn’t you.”
“How did you—”
“It was you, Y/N. I was awake the whole time but I couldn’t control myself. I kept fighting back, but he was too strong. But you. The thought of losing you was too much to bear.” He coughs a bit and winces at the pain it causes. He leans back into your arms as he breathing grows shallow.
“Jason? No, no, no. Jason! You can’t leave me! Not yet!” You take the mask off his face, and, much to your relief, he looks up at you. Slowly he raises his hand to pull the mask off your face.
“I couldn’t live with myself knowing that I pulled the trigger on your life,” he breathes.
“Jason, please, just hold on. Help is on the way.” You’re crying now, tears dripping down and mixing with the blood on his chest.
“It’s too late for me, Y/N. And you know that.”
“Please, Jay. You can’t leave me. Not again.”
“Y/N, I want you to promise me something.” His breathing is labored. He doesn’t have much time left.
“Promise—promise me that you’ll move on. And promise me you won’t use the Pit. Let me stay dead.”
“Jason don’t talk like that—”
“Find happiness. All I want from my life is for you to be happy.”
“But I can’t do that without you.”
“You have to.”
“No, Jay, I can’t. There’s something you need to know.” You’d been meaning to tell him about this for a couple of weeks, but you couldn’t find the words to do it. You take a deep breath to steady your voice. “Jason, I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a father.” Your tears fall harder on the last word.
Jason stares at you for a second, processing your words. Then his face lights up. “A father.” He says and smiles up at you. “You’re going to make a wonderful mother, Y/N.”
“Jason please don’t leave us,” you sob.
“You’re a strong woman. If anyone can do this it’s you.” He reaches up to brush a tear off your cheek. “If one of us had to go, I’m glad it’s me.” His words are growing softer and softer. “I love you, Y/N. I always have, and I always—”
Suddenly his hand drops as the light fades from his eyes.
Somewhere in your mind you hear yourself screaming his name and crying into his chest.
At some point you feel a set of strong arms as Dick carries you out of the warehouse while Bruce takes Jason.
But none of it feels real to you.
How could it when the love of your life and the father of your child is dead.

I for one have been going rogue and writing whatever twisted idea pops in my head, and I’m legitimately sorry for that.
It’s all been on my personal writing blog, though, so I’m sorry for that as well.
- Mod Drama Queen
Hi girlies I don't mean to rush you or stress you out! I’m actually planning on sitting down this weekend and looking over my prompts list to see what I’ve got.
I’ve been on Spring Break this week and been more focused on catching up on my sleep more than anything.
I know we don’t post prompts as often as we have in the past, but we appreciate all of y'all’s support and encouragement these past few months. Y'all are the reason this blog is the way it is today!
