I just kind of remember how I made a fan comic for your mermaid au and I just imagine the implications it would have in story-wise if it was Canon and I can't stop laughing

Like Captain squip would probably still be trying to capture mermaids for profit but kind of crushing over this one mermaid it took his hat after she kissed him

Like his crew would definitely make fun of him behind his back because of it

The only one that would have the balls to do it to the captain's face notoriously makes stupid mistakes (ie putting his fingers within biting distance)

2. KINGDOM - How many named places are there in your WIP? How much have you developed them?

As for the two sections my co-creator and I came up with, there are the kingdoms of the Shallows and the Deep Sea. The Deep Sea gets more "screen time" since the whole au is kicked off by Michael swimming down to explore and happening upon Jeremy.

But bc co-creator and I aren't good at world building and don't know shit about the actual ocean and what lives in it, we stole shit from Subnautica. So like. Fantasy Subnautica. We never really got into what kind of technology carries over (adulting makes it hard for us to interact) and I've often joked about not knowing what century it takes place in with the referencing of modern songs but also having. Ya know. Pirates of centuries past lol

Sooo how developed are the locations? Subnautica and vibes

It's a tiny bit of both by virtue of Jeremy being a a tsundere for a while, but mostly forbidden love.

18. WITCH - What sparked the idea for this world?

An irl of mine (the co-creator) sent me a post on Instagram (which I think was screenshotted from tumblr) of a user describing physical difference between mermaids in like, freshwater vs. super deep sea and stuff like that. She wanted to do a bmc rp loosely based on it and we went from there

@h0n3yk1tt3n i have like 10 minutes left of mermay and i had a joke w your au but i hated it so i scrapped it BUT i like this so i’m posting it and i’m just going to explain my joke

so freckles are formed with melanin right?? more importantly your skin absorbs uv rays from the sun blah blah allat. NOW stay with me glow in the dark things glow because the phosphors ABSORB light from the sun and THEN glow do you see where im going with this

i know damn well thats not how skin works and we have it more in our teeth and bones but whatever theyre mermaids and he lives in the deep sea in the DARK come on now its a stretch but it writes itself suspension of disbelief or something

so my joke was he didnt have freckles until he first saw the sun (obviously) and since hes never been exposed to the sun before he soaks that shit up like crazy (think how glow in the dark things glow the brightest when theyre new) and hes like a fucking disco ball when he gets home. image above for reference
