i started up this blog in middle school. it was my baby for an actual decade. i am now an adult man with a day job.

I have dreaded this day and been in denial but I truly may have grown out of this project.

There are other things I want to focus on, like getting my original comic off the ground (maybe some of you would like to read it when it's out? :3).

I would still like to make one more post to wrap up the marriage storyline before I retire the blog. End it all on a nice high note. I won't delete the blog! It will stay up as an archive

Until then, thank you all for the really overwhelming support over the years! seriously, i couldn't have asked for better fans! it was fun while it lasted!

This is more for mun, than for Finland in rp. and this isn't a question. My sister and I had discussed the human names in Hetalia and that Himaruya isn't the greatest at them. We got to Finland, and talked about his last name. We learned that he's a mythological figure. ok cool. the more we talked, the more we made some headcanons. Finland is canonically... bad at naming things. His name choices for the dog, before settling on Hanatamago were strange. (1/?)

((That is a fun hc! I will say though, Väinämöinen actually doesn't sound unrealistic as a Finnish last name. :D

Names of figures from Kalevala are more often used as first names (such as my two cats Kyllikki and Kullervo :3), but Ilmarinen and Tapio are good examples of last names taken from the mythology!

I haven't encountered Väinämöinen as a last name in the wild so to speak, but a shortened Väinämö does indeed exist both as a given name and family name. (It actually happens to be our current president's middle name!) So a whole Väinämöinen as a last name would probably be rare but not raise eyebrows here!

(EDIT: according to a quick search on the civil registry there have been exactly 7 people with the last name Väinämöinen, though none currently living. (unless...?) I also looked up my last name and it's only ever been owned by 83 people, living or dead, so hey a pretty special boy over here >:3)

((Hey, mun here! This was a very long project with lots of work and love put into it so I just wanted to say I hope it was worth the wait and you enjoyed the read! Give Sweden a big hand too for learning to sing a whole song in Finnish just to make his future husband ugly cry!

I've had this headcanon for years now that Sweden would propose to Finland in this very cheesy way, learning to play and sing him Tuu mun vaimoksein (Please be my wife), a bit of a classic which should be known to about every Finnish person who attended a confirmation camp in their youth after like, the 80's. Of course in this instance wife is changed to husband. (And yes I interpret that wife gag as just that - a joke they're both in on - and this is a serious heartfelt thing here!)

I left out the middle two verses because a wall of text just wouldn't have made for a very exciting comic but just assume that Sweden sang the whole song!

[Not an ask, but OMG MUN I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND YOUR BLOG AGAIN FOR SO LONG!!! I followed originally, like maybe 5-6 years ago? Maybe earlier or later than that, I'm not sure how long you've been active, but I know I followed pre-highschool and now I've been graduated for a year (which is insane). I deleted my old account so long ago, and my biggest regret was forgetting this blog for so long. I was so scared you were no longer active or that the blog was entirely deleted, but here you are, still going stong!! It makes me so unbelievbly happy to have found this blog. How do the countries work? Are they not able to be killed, but can't regenerate limbs? I just wanna learn about it :0

You know we're representations of nations and their people, right? So evidently, as long as those remain, so do we, even if our "human" bodies suffer what would be fatal injuries to humans. Even dismemberment and decapitation is nothing new to a lot of us but most of the time limbs and heads can simply be reattached, as gnarly as that sounds.

But as I just explained, injuries do sometimes leave marks when there's symbolism connected to them - Most of us have scars of some kind from major events in wars. In my case, I just happened to be dealt an especially shitty hand (lol) in the symbolic injury lottery.

...So it's like... Folklore logic? In that sometimes there just is no logic. Which kinda makes sense since we're sort of supernatural beings, I guess? The point is don't think about it too hard.
