Love with urgency, but not with haste
21K posts
I am Gabriel Lightwood, youngest son of Benedict, brother to Gideon and Tatiana, and all around better Shadowhunter than Will Herondale. Ask me anything, just as long as it has nothing to do with Demon Pox. I'm warning you. ((Independent RP Blog. Will RP with anyone.)) ((This character is slightly different from the Gabriel Lightwood in the Infernal Devices. He will be played at various ages and in both canon RPs and AUs. Please send an ask for more details.)) Faceclaim: Xavier Samuel M!A None, but always welcome.

I hope so. You did a nice job with your children.
You’ve done nothing wrong. It just wasn’t who she is.

If you say so.

Yes but I made certain she had all of the things a girl should have. Frilly dresses. Lovely hats. *shakes head*
Very true. She never danced at the parties we’ve thrown before… Who does she get that from? *laughs softly*

Of course I think so. She never liked dancing!
It had to have been the ballet lessons. *drinks*

{Out of Arrows}
While I am over here, it should be noted that I have no problem with a girl wearing boys clothes, in fact, I love this concept very much. I am thrilled that Cassandra Clare plans to explore this idea in TLH.
Gabriel, however, would be questioned by it, having lived through the Victorian era. Anything odd or different about his children would have caused Gabriel to question it and probably fret over it.

Christopher was the one who wore dresses when he was little... I expected this more out of him.
//It's true that many Victorian boy's clothes were actually dresses. During that time period, boys and girls dressed in similar fashions simply because it was easier. A boy could be put in a dress without it seeming odd, but a girl dressed as a boy was unheard of.

Miserably so. I am regretting not settling in Greece when I had the chance, though that would have taken you away from Will... although it was tempting.
The mere prospect of a father/son talk with him frightens me. He's so... wild. And I wasn't fretting. It's Anna. I caught her going through Christopher's things again, putting together tails and a top hat. Where is she going these days, dressed like... that? Is it our fault? Did we put her in too many dresses when she was a girl?
Hmm, yes this winter is dragging on isn’t it? *Looks a little amused* Very well. I’ll hold you to your word on that.
*Smiles* I’ll leave that up to you. He is young and bold — a father/son talk should help clear those rough waters.
If you aren’t worried, then why were you fretting by the window? You only fret by the window when something is truly confusing you. *Looks at you with knowing eyes*

I promise, I won't. I don't want Christopher starting such a terrible habit. Let's not discuss our demises. Not in the middle of an endless winter.
That boy is going to need to learn the value of money before he goes traveling anywhere, if I have any say in it. And no, I'm not worried. I just want the children to have anything they want in regards to their education and weddings.
Yes, darling, I know how you feel about smoking.
What else has me fretting? You know Christopher wants to travel as well, and he’s graduating this year.
Good. Please don’t smoke inside or near the house. It gives me a headache and you are going to end up dying before me if you continue. *grins towards the end of the sentence*
Yes indeed. Christopher was talking about going with some friends, though.
…Are you worried about the finances?

*flicks the cigarette far away and turns around with a smile* Darling. I was just thinking about the children. I’ve neglected to ask Anna if she plans to study abroad this summer. I’ll have to rearrange the finances if she wants to, not that I mind. She can do whatever she wants to. *nods earnestly* Whatever she wants.

*leans out of the back door of the townhouse and smokes cigarette after cigarette as he stares off into the backyard, fretting*
