another bio for a character i use on ask helix

while twilight is a canon character and will be about the same as canon in my world theres a few differences, hence this bio.

name: Twilight Sparkle age: 22 gender: female sexual orientation: unknown relationship status: single cutie mark: a large 6 point star overlaying another 6 point star surrounded by 5 small 6 point stars talent: all forms of magic. while she has a lot of magical power and can learn any kind of magic she cant use it as well as a pony whose talent is related to it (example- she could learn pyromancy like helix and even if she was better at him in it at first he would get better at it then her sooner or later)

After becoming a princess she was no longer celestias magic student however celestia still teaches her but now she teaches twilight about being a princess so she’ll be ready to take over should the need arise.

as the unofficial town librarian helix met her when he would go to borrow books to study and after seeing his interest in magic she offered to help him study if he needed any help, mainly eager to share her knowledge of magic, and would occasionally tutor him much like she had tutored the cutie mark crusaders with ‘twilight time’.

after the incident with tirek she lost her library and all her books and after her friends helped her cope with the loss she started working right away at preparing a new library. she began by moving all the books from the castle of the two sisters over to her castle, mostly to study but also because her and her friends had started fixing up the ruin down castle to try and make it good as new.

after helping helix from time to time with his studies and thanks to her extra free time with no world ending disasters seemingly every week she decided she wanted to try out being a mentor like celestia had been for her and started by visiting sunset shimmer and has recently taken starlight glimmer under her wing as well.

currently she studies what it means to be a princess, helps anypony eager to learn when she can, and guides her pupils sunset and starlight as best she can. after getting used to mentoring she considered asking moon dancer and trixie lunamoon but hasnt out of concern for over doing it and not being able to give them all the attention they would need.

ive actually got loads of hobbies i enjoy that help me relax and im always lookin to try new things. ^^

mod: ok so as you may have noticed helixs magic is purple, well this is a test kinda.

you see helixs mane is red and his default magic aura was a darker shade of red and its always kinda bugged me how everything just looks like its blurred together when he uses magic, so instead of stressin out over it anymore i changed helixs magics color to something that wont interfere with any of his colors and honestly i kinda like it.

ive even got a reason for why his magic has turned purple if anyones interested but i figured id try this out and if it doesnt work out ill probably try green.

name: Backjack age: 26 gender: female sexual orientation: pansexual relationship status: unknown cutie mark: an ace of hearts overlaid over a queen talent: very skilled and lucky at all card based games

 Blackjack is the daughter of the famous stage performers Hokus and Pokus but despite her fathers hopes that she would follow in their hoofsteps she had no interest in magic or performing on stage.

Due to her parents job they often did a lot of shows in places like las pegusus known for their casinos where she would play games with whoever was watching over her during her parents shows, often betting for free snacks and things over games like go fish and uno. thanks to this she not only grew to love gambling she learned she was very good at it.

After getting her cutie mark from card games and gambling it started to cause friction between her and her father, mostly due to him disapproving of gambling. Eventually it started arguments between them and one day when she was 11 he banned her from ever playing card games or gambling again, that night in anger she ran away with nothing but her savings and a deck of cards.

She spent the next few years hustling casinos and making enemies along the way, after pissing off a particular gang a couple of bumbling goons named mumbo and jumbo were sent to ‘take care of her’ but she would always give them the slip anytime they caught up to her.

Since her mother and helixs mother were sisters their parents would often visit eachother when they had the chance and due to this it often seemed like blackjack and helix were brother and sister instead of cousins.

After helixs parents died blackjack came to the funeral but couldnt face her family so she watched from a distance but after hearing several ponies talk about helix like he was a murderer she got upset and took off, taking helix with her figuring if he stayed he would just be treated like an outcast or a criminal.

For the next few years she spent it on the road like before but now with helix and had to teach him how to survive and raise him and thanks to this she started feeling less bitter about her life and cared more about protecting helix.

When helix turned 18 she decided her life wasnt the life for him and now that he was old enough to take care of himself he would be better off going back to ponyville and sent him back with enough money to get him started.

Presently shes still traveling and still avoiding her parents but she often visits helix to check up on him and make sure hes ok.

since i got no asks on helix atm i decided to do a bio for another of my characters

im aware shoeshine is a background character from the show but atm she has no canon personality or anything so this is my version of her and i likely wont change that no matter what the show does with her, so this is my take on shoeshine and refer to her as my character in that sense

name: Shoeshine age: 22 gender: female sexual orientation: unknown relationship status: single cutie mark: a silver and bronze horseshoe interlocked talent: shoe smith- makes, maintains, and repairs horseshoes

when shoeshine was little she discovered she had a talent for crafting horseshoes while helping her father at his smithing shop, not only was she good at it but she really enjoyed it. to her crafting and caring for horseshoes was like an art and she had lots of fun with it.

when she was a little older she saved up some money from helping her dad at his shop to start her own, Shoeshines Shoe Shop, in ponyville partly cause she wanted to get out on her own and partly due to her parents wanting to move but she wanted to stay.

despite her grumpy demeanor shes actually pretty nice when you get to know her and when helix was little she was one of his only friends, despite blackjacks teasing that they should go out neither of them has shown an interest in each other and just see each other as friends.

given shoeshines shoe shop is the only shoe shop near ponyville business is usually pretty good but since she works alone it also means shes usually pretty busy and sometimes doesn’t get a chance to sleep, hence the grumpy attitude.

due to several cases of severely exhausting herself and not sleeping well helix has forced her to agree to just work five days a week and to rest and relax the remaining two, under the condition he helps her out if things get to busy and brings her something from sugarcube corner when he stops by.

yo sorry for the lack of things but i havent been verry motivated to draw and ive been veeeery distracted by games lol was warframe for a few month there but now ive gotten sucked into plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 >.<

buuuuutt, haha butt im so mature, i really wanna get drawin again. SO i made a new header, i know it sucks but ive decided if im gonna get drawin i need to stop stressing over makin it look ‘good’ and just do it and ive cleared the inbox.

Name: Helix Age: 20 Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Strait Relationship Status: Single Cutie Mark: Red and Blue energy spiraling each other, has been called a pepsi logo a few times :p Talent: Pyromancy(advanced fire magic) & Hydromancy(advanced water magic)

Helix is a unicorn born in ponyville. When he was young he loved magic shows and was originally inspired to become a showpony when he saw his first magic show.

He got his cutie mark during a school talent show where he got nervous and lost control of his magic and accidentally burned the stage, then later that night there was a fire at his house that resulted in his parents deaths.

between what happened at the talent show and a friend of his father telling him it was his fault his parents died, he later learned it wasn’t his fault at all but still at the time helix was depressed and hated himself and his magic.

after a couple days helixs cousin blackjack dragged him along and took care of him acting as a pseudo ‘big sister’ to him and in time helix stopped hating himself but continued hating his magic, refusing to use it unless he had to, and had no confidence in himself.

for the next 10 years helix grew up traveling with blackjack before returning to ponyville on his own to live.

not trusting himself around others he built a cheap home outside of town so that if he caused any fires he wouldn’t hurt anyone and could fix the damages quick and easy

after heading to town once he was settled in he met pinkie, of course, who threw a party even though helix wasn’t technically 'new’ to ponyville and after hearing he had no plans for work got him a job at sugarcube corner.

after a while helix started making a handful of friends, even having a few marefriends throughout his time, and was finally happy again but didn’t trust himself so he continued to avoid his magic then one day something happened causing many ponies to have their cutie marks swapped, including their talents, and after discovering a note to him left by his mother to cheer him up after the talent show he wasn’t just reminded of his true talent but he was also reminded of how much joy his magic used to bring him and others but he still didn’t trust himself so he started practicing magic again but kept it simple and practiced alone.

after twilights library was destroyed helix didn’t have a way to study magic on his own anymore so since twilight could learn any kind of magic he went to ask her if she could teach him or if she knew somepony who could but before he could even ask she saw the book he was returning and assumed he was having trouble cause he was studying magic he couldn’t do.

after telling her he already learned everything in the book twilight was skeptical till he demonstrated some magic for her and she left right away returning later to inform him she had set up an appointment for helix to apply at celestias school for gifted unicorns insisting that helixs talent was rare and he could learn a lot there

the day helix went to take his entrance exam however there was a poison joke outbreak which had affected him and he failed his test then after discovering the cause of the outbreak he used hydromancy for the first time and after seeing the strain it caused it made twilight suspect there might be some kind of added cost to using mancies and that she would have to keep an eye on helix just in case

currently helix is studying hard for his re-test to celestias school for gifted unicorns and and has a crush on a mare who hes been working up the courage to ask to help him study.

(I decided to try making a complete bio for helix, admittedly its a bit sloppy but otherwise i think i got all the key points.)

as for the rapidash i tried to make the body look like helix painted himself with paint which is why theres some spots that arent colored properly, his mane and tail are down so they wouldnt touch the fire and burn lol

well 2/4 requests aint bad for one night so im gonna stop here but i may do the other two tomorrow if i feel like it although i just got a new oc i wanna draw so ill probably end up drawin her instead XD anyways happy halloween all dont eat all your candy in one night ;3)
