HEALING:

† Kratos’ SOUL gradually heals him automatically while he’s injured or has low HP. It can only start the recovery process once he is completely relaxed and not in danger. Healing cannot start when the soul is actively overheating, and does not start immediately. Because of this, his normal healing time is faster than average. Stress can cause a slower recovery, or even pause the healing process. 

HEALING (Others): † Kratos can jump-start recovery for physical wounds on others, and also heal injury completely— if it's (at least) a semi-shallow wound. For monsters only, Kratos can use a small amount of his DETERMINATION to close open wounds, as it is literally burning or melting it closed.

OVERHEATING:

† After he hits a certain limit, every attack he does after that will hurt him slowly. His SOUL will begin to ‘overheat’, since it is producing too much magic for his body to handle. This is why he attacks sparingly, and uses as few moves as he can. Overheating can also occur as the result of extreme exhaustion, injury, stress, and adrenaline. Because of his limited magic, it encourages him to perform more lethal or fatal attacks, and to end the battle A.S.A.P. (AKA, he doesn’t fuck around)  The longer it overheats however, the more HP he loses. He only has a limited amount of time to retreat to safety and start the cooling process. That process starts with calming himself down. If his soul starts overheating while in battle, he will be forced to flee.

Keeping a calm mind could be life or death for him. Intense emotions can cause overheating to accelerate rapidly. So even though he just has a more stoic personality, this aspect of his SOUL causes him to push this calm and unreactive demeanor even harder. Overheating can kill him. Or more accurately, it can kill his body. As his SOUL and body have different sets of HP.

DEATH? & REVIVAL:

† Although Kratos cannot technically die, his body can go into a semi-dead state. He would be unconscious until he’s revived. During this, his body does not dust, as it is being held together by the sheer force his SOUL has on him physically. Though his body is still fragile. Revival also heals any injuries (or missing limbs) he might have. During his death, his SOUL will cause his DEF to increase by 5x, and lower every other STAT. Kratos can only be revived in his… chambers. And within his own home. It is important to note that revival does not require a machine, but a set of circumstances have to be met, before his SOUL can start the revival process.

THE SOUL:

† Like any SOUL, Kratos’ soul powers him and his magic. His soul stays visible within his ribcage at all times, and cannot be hidden. His soul is unstable, extremely concentrated with magic, and is physically very dense.  Because of its density, it draws things near it– as a black hole would. Though on a much smaller scale. It exerts an extreme force on Kratos, especially his ribcage. To counter this, Kratos’ body was developed to have a lot more mass than average. This is also the reason for his staggering height. The smoke from his SOUL is excess magic being released. It acts as a cooling device to prevent it from overheating more regularly/quickly. It smells like incense and has a toasty undertone.

THE CAGE:

† Its cage is a magic limiter and regulator, to further stabilize the precarious nature of the SOUL. Many things can go wrong if this cage is opened— if precautionary measures were not followed. It would melt, tear, and warp its surroundings if it is opened for long periods of time, or is opened too widely.

The cage was created and formed by the soul itself, and it has been there since his birth. Because of this, it is not destroyed by its pull.

If the cage is to be opened fully, light spaghettification may occur to anything in its radius. Though that is only an educated guess to what may happen if the cage was opened/removed entirely.

His soul is extremely powerful, but he only has access to a portion or it. Contrary to popular conspiracy, opening the soul-cage does not grant him extra or enhanced power directly. However, that power can still be harnessed via special attacks, if they require the cage to be opened. Those special attacks cost a lot of magic, and often damage him in the process. (This will be explained further in the future.)

EXTRA:

† Kratos' SOUL is 9 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and around 3.5 inches thick. With the cage, it only adds around half an inch to everything. The average soul size (HC) is around 6-5 inches tall, and 5-4 inches wide. CM: 23cm , 20cm , 9 cm | 15-13cm , 13-10cm. in order! As stated in his base lore, his soul beats like an actual heart. Each pulse comes with slight metallic reverb, as its bumping into the cage as it beats. Sometimes when Kratos is stressed or unnerved, his soul will make a noise similar to the planetary sounds of Pluto. This phenomenon is slightly rare, however. The cage's key also opens other things specific to him, though those things are unknown at this current time. . . Its, and therefore his origin is… unknown. To all but one, and that is Kratos himself. Though it is useless to ask, because he will never tell.

Kratos’ body mass is higher, and stronger than most monsters. Meaning that he can withstand the determination in his SOUL, which is his main soul trait. This is only possible from his strength, and the soul-cage that he has. His ability to JUDGE is possible because of the rest of his SOUL traits. . . Which are unknown.* The process of finding and judging his targets is slightly complex, but straightforward. In a nutshell, each step goes as followed: RESEARCH , PLAN , HUNT , TRIAL , VERDICT , RESTORE In order. Some steps might be added or taken away depending on who he’s hunting down, these are just the bare minimum. Frequently, an extra step is needed; ‘MONITOR’. After JUDGEMENT ends, he will continue to monitor and observe them– if they’re alive, that is. Kratos will often check in on them too, whether to remind them why they’re here now, or just to see how they’re doing. Kratos protects everyone inside the omniverse, even those who want to destroy it. His protection is not exclusive to anyone or thing, and he never wants it to be. His care is extended to all of humanity, and he will not hesitate to aid his past targets if they’re in need. How does he keep track of every threat in the omniverse? He has a hit-list. It is said that his SOUL holds many secrets, secrets that only he knows about. It always emits red smoke, as it beats like a real heart.

Kratos knows three languages. Russian, English, and Wing-dings. He speaks all three fluently, though only tends to curse in Russian. He uses English the most, since it's the most common language he stumbles upon. He knows a bit of sign language, he is not fluent however. He often uses both English and Russian interchangeably, whether he’s talking to himself, thinking, or speaking to someone who also knows both. His accent is slightly thicker than most. There is a softness to his voice, while still being deep-toned. He speaks in a direct manner, often using as little words as possible. Kratos goes by a more ‘show, don’t tell’ approach to his interrogation, and communication methods. If not that, he responds with his signature “...”

✦ PERSONALITY. . . †

Kratos is cold, stern, and direct. He is very calm and collected, being reserved to himself majority of the time. He is patient, willing to understand, and not hot-headed in the slightest. He doesn’t get angry easily, but when he does, its full on rage. He can be very intense, usually when he’s engaged in a fight, or fired up with DETERMINATION. He has a maturity to him, which speaks to his age. This aspect of him is reflected in his more broad vocabulary, and the way he deals with issues. Multiversal, or not.

Kratos cares for the omniverse deeply, and all the multiverses and AUs that inhabit it. He holds no hatred for the people he battles or judges. Whether they’re good, or evil. He looks at everyone with the same neutral mindset.

✦ IDENTITY. . . †

He is aroaceflux, pansexual, demiromantic and demisexual. With a preference for men/masculine people. While he feels all of these aspects of his orientation, he chooses to not align himself with any of the labels. He is genderless, or agender. He generally likes to align himself with more masculine or un-gendered features or terms. His pronouns being: He/him/them, or no pronouns. Kratos is not a Sans/Papyrus/Gaster variant. He’s just a skeleton.

hey everyone, i wanted to give y'all a heads up about something :-) i will be going on hiatus until mid-march, 2025! the reason why is so i can properly plan, write out, and make what i've planned for Kratos. i have a lot of things in store for him, and i've realized that i need time to plan all of it out!

what about ask-kratos?

ask-kratos will also be on hiatus, as it is a part of what i've planned! although, i do not mind if you keep submitting asks. they will be answered, just after i (and Kratos) come back :-).

in fact, theres a lot of things that'll happen after i come back; but i'll leave you in suspense. >:-) if it takes longer than my set hiatus time, then i will tell you. /gen

i know its pretty late in the day, but i wanted to ask y'all something... (and i know, i gotta draw some more responses to ask-kratos!! i'm experiencing a bit of an art block atm, but TRUST i will get back to it!)

i wanted to ask how you would like to learn about kratos and his lore? should i release his lore in larger quantities? like that big post i did for kratos' base lore. or should i release only small parts of his lore overtime? only focusing on one aspect at a time. (these will also be a lot shorter.) and/or, would you rather something more art leaning; like a long-form comic? i've expressed interest in making a comic for kratos many times now, and that idea has been stewing in my head for years. though every time i attempted it, i got burnt out. BUT, despite that, i do plan on making one someday. i don't know when, but SOMEDAY I WILL! (i will also be doing ask-kratos along side it. his ask blog isn't going anywhere, dw!) i'm not sure if anyone would want a comic for him! please let me know if you do!! since i at least want some confirmation that people want a comic, before i do anything. this is also not an announcement for one, FYI!!!

i mainly just want to have fun with sharing kratos and his lore. and i want to make sure you have fun too!

and also, i just wanted to thank you all for you the overwhelmingly positive reaction to kratos. you have no idea how happy i am about that. TRULY, I AM ECSTATIC!!! i feel so honored that y'all think he's cool, and that you're invested in his story! thank you. from the bottom of my heart, that will always mean the absolute most to me. i will never take that for granted. /gen and trust me, i am COOKING with his story/lore!! i can't wait to share even more about him with you!
