The clock rings midnight by the time you reach the bar. The street just outside is basked in a dim golden glow, the shadows from ceiling fans inside dancing along the sidewalk like puppets on a string. It’s Sunday night. Even with the movement of the fans, there isn’t much customer activity here.

You enter. The faint sound of the jukebox in the corner immediately greets you, churning out some old, familiar tune. The handsome bartender at the other end of the room glances up when he hears the door swinging open.

“ Welcome back. ”

His smile is charming as always, yet also warm and welcome.

” Rough day? Don’t worry. I’ll make you something you’ll really like. ”

Just because they have a deep mutual bond doesn’t mean they’re in love. Please, for the LOVE of god, don’t shove it down on people if they ship the cookies with other cookies. Don’t do it. Don’t be that guy.
