I just read the entirety of Ready Player One in less than a day and it's partially this blog's fault because between here and the movie's release I just really wanted to read it and my dad actually owned a copy of the book so I got it and read the WHOLE THING super fast! And it was awesome!

((WHOA NICE!! I actually just returned from seeing the movie and it was really good ^^ It was vastly different from the book though so be prepared for a lot of changes if you go to see it :0

But yes both the book and the film are great! I’m glad you enjoyed the novel ^p^))

What's this? Jeremy likes Warriors? Does he like the other series by Erin Hunter (Seekers, Survivors, etc.)? What's his favorite arc? His favorite Clan? Is he up to date with all the books? Is there a Warriors world in the OASIS, do you think? If so, do they play as humans, or get turned into cats or something? I have so many questions and I cannot begin to tell you how obsessed I used to be with Warriors.

You get to transform into a forest cat and pick which Clan you’d like to belong to, and which era, it’s pretty sweet. Out of the four of us, I’m the one that goes there the most often…

Wait... Are there replica Voltron Lions you can pilot in the OASIS? If so, can you form Voltron as a group? If that if so is so, who of the High Five form what part of Voltron?

Jeremy: Yup! The Squips had the Lions in their possession for a while right before the final battle, but once all their accounts were terminated I swooped in and transferred the Lions to the High Five’s special base! Those were the official ones provided from the Hunt, but there are countless other replicas that people can use once they get the right mission achievements.

Michael: I pilot the Yellow Lion! Rich has Blue, Christine has Green, Jake has Red and—

Jeremy: Since I’m the Team Leader, I pilot Black! I form the head~

Rich: He’s good!! Still snoozin’ haha but he’s actually been improving steadily over the past few months so?

Get this! The other day he squeezed my hand! It was just. Really awesome, I legit almost started crying.

I have high hopes for my boy. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before he’s up and around again. He’s missed a lot while he’s been conked out, I can’t wait to update him on all the good shit that’s been released lately!

Ernest Cline is a hack who couldn't write an original story to save his life. He's only popular and considered a great writer because he references things that people know. Take out all the pop culture sludge from his book, and you'll see how souless and inept he is.

((Okay?? I still think that even without all of the extra pop culture garbage it’s still a really good story (honestly it probably would have been better to take out like 80% of the references, but. Meh) There’s a lot of good personal conflict in there, mostly with Wade being a dick lol but? I genuinely love the characters and just the overall plot, it all came together at the end so well imoBut yes I do agree with you about all the extra references lol at this point that’s what the movie seems to be entirely made of instead of the actual story with Wade, Arty and Aech. Hopefully they keep the most important aspects of the book in there

Also people spouting hateful comments in the tag isn’t really going to do anything;; if people really hate it that much they can go to the author himself, nobody’s gonna see their comments on tumblr ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So that’s why I’m tired of seeing that stuff in the tag, keep it to yourself or go yell at Ernest Cline about it, I just want to try to enjoy the movie as best as I can as somebody who treasures and loves the novel despite all of its flaws))

Ready Player One comes out at the end of this month!! Are you excited?

((YES VERY!! I know it’s been quite some time since I’ve touched this blog, but with the release of the movie I plan to reread the novel before it comes out this month! I’m sure I’ll be back soon to start answering asks again in the spirit of the movie’s release

I’ve been looking through the tags and a lot of people seem really angry at this movie;; which is understandable but as somebody who’s read the novel and treasures it enough to have an ask blog based off of it, I’m gonna try to go in without any judgements on the film and rate it honestly! I just want them to stay true to the book as closely as possible, the multiple pop culture references are just an added bonus

I for one am really hyped! I’ve been waiting for this movie for almost a year and I’ll take the good and the bad parts of it. Just remember that this blog is directly based off the novel but once I see the movie I might throw in some stuff from it in here if I like it enough :0
