Wait why did the computer beep?

"The computer what?" Now that his attention was on the computer, Eclipse saw that the diagnostics window had a green check mark on it.

Lunar hopped onto the computer seat (careful not to break anything currently on the seat) and peeked at the screen as well. "It went through this time! Now what?"

Eclipse pressed the print button. "We'll have to see what Moon and I can get from this." He glanced towards where Sun laid, something like hope flickering in his eyes.

Lunar made a kind of whining noise, but he was a little tired of delaying the whole thing himself. "Fiiine..." He slumped for just a bit, straightening up again when it seemed he would get no sympathy. "Basically while the portal was closed, we were doing fine until some things showed up that kinda took us away for a bit? It's kinda fuzzy. Think of it like those old cartoons where the narrator comes in sometimes."

"Some things what?"

"I'm fine now, aren't I?"

"And all this happened while you were away?" Eclipse felt a headache coming on, so he made a gesture as if to wave it off. "You know what? Let's just agree to never jump through random portals ever again. Especially with these time discrepancies."

Green was carried over with no struggles, Landing in the correct dimension at last. She immediately sprinted off somewhere to probably let everyone know she's back.

Purple, who finished processing the situation, called out to Lunar "Yeah you're not getting away from that one bud. Sorry. " Cyan rested her hands on the rim of the portal, waiting either for Lunar to speak or for her to be asked for an explanation.

"Well?"

hey guys, miss you. It’s almost Christmas here. A lot of losses here too. Some painful and some I could care less about 😒. And not to mention the aggressive cleaning. Hope you 5 are doing good, anything you want for christmas?

The printer sputtered as if it hadn't been used in a while, even though Eclipse could have sworn it was beeping regularly. Must have been the time discrepancy again.

"Feels like it was just Christmas."

"I still want a new room. Or maybe a good night's sleep for once."

Sun could be heard over the speaker complaining about how far the bunker was, likely not having heard the message. "Can't we just use a portal to get there?"

Moon made a sighing sound. "I haven't upgraded it yet. Why not just pass the time by listing our Christmas list?"

"That'll take at least a whole day to get through."

"Exactly."

{Connection attempted. Reconnecting... failed... retrying... failed...}

[Mod here: Sorry for the huge pause. Things have been really hectic IRL, with some really bad blows. I can't promise I'll be as regular as I was at the start, but I hope to finish at least one story beat.]

"For the love of—" If he had a proper nose to pinch, Eclipse would have probably pinched it off. The moon nose that he did have, mostly flat as it was, would have to suffice. "One thing at a time. First, I gotta get you home." He did end up carrying Green bridal style, if only because it was the easiest way to get her through the portal leg-first.

Once she was through, Eclipse looked between the Colors and Lunar. "So, we can do this one of two ways," he said, addressing Lunar first. "You can tell me yourself, or Cyan can." Eclipse gave Cyan a brief nod of acknowledgement. "Nice to meet you, too, by the way."

"That would be nice actually, cause cleaning you is much easier since we have the erasers."

Green noticed Lunar slipping the message in his pocket and, guessing what it was about, kept her mouth shut, just exchanging a few awkward glances with Purple(who also saw), who did a 'mouth zipped' gesture while Eclipse is looking away.

"..It would be best to get you back sooner than later, Green"

Eclipse nodded in agreement with Purple. "If time here is as weird as you've been saying, I'd rather not take any risks." He approached Green to pick her up, though he wasn't sure the best way how. By the scruff of her clothing would get the least paint on him, but probably wouldn't be comfortable. Bridal style might be the most comfortable, but the very thought made him feel awkward. "Guess I should ask. How do you want to be picked up?"

Lunar quickly pocketed the next message, though he did catch Eclipse giving him a side-eye. "I'll tell you later!" he chirped, trying to wave him off.

"It's gonna take us about a day to get to that bunker. Eclipse wanted one that was really far out," Moon answered after Eclipse relayed the message to him.

"That's about as long as I needed," chirped Lunar. "Also I take offense to that jumping bean statement!"

"Would you rather be small?"

"Fun size!"

"Small."

"I was dead last Mother's Day," Lunar piped with an obviously feigned cheer. Actually quite muted compared to the usual.

"Um... I'll go, then," Eclipse said, followed by a thoughtful hum. "I remember guiding kids through crafts back in my dimension. Mostly paper flowers, but there were some metal pieces for kids who wanted to make more unique things." He picked up one of the Valentine's roses. "Things like this that can't be made with paper. Those were more memorable, thoughtful."

Also, Lunar, Purple or Green probably have not mentioned it to you, but while time was paused in your dimension, we (The colors and Lunar) got basically kidnapped by what we speculate are gods, and then returned after they had realised we received asks much like you.

I feel that is information of utmost importance that has not been mentioned.

While Eclipse wondered how best to get Green back home, Lunar read the message. With an small and awkward chuckle, he slipped the paper into his pocket.

Consider this intercepting.

Eclipse, none the wiser, looked between Green and Purple. "I can carry you back if that's what you're worried about," he offered. "But really, I don't think anyone would care. This place was already a dump when I showed up. A little paint won't do any harm."

Suddenly, the computer beeped with a notification. Something was done. Could it be the diagnostics?

oh brother. I highly doubt we’ll ever have a normal moment in any of the shows universes. I mean you guys are talking to a magic printer for Pete’s sake. Any normal person would think your crazy or need maintenance 😅

Eclipse tilted his head at the "shows" comment, but decided it was too small a detail to bother with. "Never a dull day around here, that's for sure." His hand moved a little closer to Sun's prone body. "It's at least better than my dimension."

Lunar spared a concerned glance towards Eclipse. The gesture went unnoticed by all except the printer's sensors.

"Really confused," Moon answered for Eclipse from the speaker, "but you don't sound like a threat, so I'm not worried."

"You're not stuck here now, are you?"

"Purple told me the portal should open and close on control, so we should be good." Eclipse gestured around the bunker. "Anyway, Green, make yourself at home. It's not much, so don't worry about making a mess."

"..Yeah I think so??? Just still in shock right now sorry-"

Green then looks around at the mess her landing has resulted in.

"oh gEEZ I am so sorry for the walls and floor and for the mess in general and-" She stops herself before she starts rambling.

The bored narrator jumped into the exchange between her good friends to say:

[There also seems to be a coding way to do it, but that stuff can get really confusing real fast. Good thing for us is we have time capsules (-v-)]

"Hey, hey, it's fine." Eclipse himself was starting to get flustered with the rambling. "It's just a bunker. We can always clean it up somehow."

"You know, if we paint blue, pink, and yellow flowers, we can turn some of these spots into a flower patch," Lunar suggested. "Kinda like back at the Daycare!"

"There we go, a silver lining."

But for reals, I was going back to reformat my Sun posts and saw that they were still yellow. For giggles, I went to the edit option and found that the format still works, we just can't choose it from scratch.

So I just copy yellow text in the edit mode and paste it into any new posts. Bit of a bummer, but it works.]

Thankfully, the bright green flying forwards was easy to spot and Eclipse ducked before Green could collide with either him or Lunar.

Meanwhile, the spot where Green landed looked like someone dropped a bucket of the color all over the floor. Even the relative darkness of the place couldn't dull the hue.

"You okay, there?"

oh, you don't want to let lunar go, green?

"AAAA-" Green had been picked up with whatever powers the askers have and promptly yeeted into the dimension. The walls and floor are green now, good job.

"WHAT THE HELL?! The fuck the anons on about???"

sun please don’t be mad at lunar. The portal mishap wasn’t his fault. And you can’t blame him for wanting to see his best friend and make sure he’s ok.

"Can you really blame me?" Lunar added after the message was relayed. "All Moon said was Eclipse showed up with his Sun and he sent them somewhere to hide. What if one of them was badly hurt and he didn't tell me?"

"Lunar, you didn't even take repair supplies with you," Sun deadpanned, "and besides, you left Earth worried sick! The only reason she isn't with us is because someone has to watch over the Daycare."

"Did you even make sure you weren't followed?"

"Well... no one's come in so far..."
